OK, it was actually this stuff I found on Amazon.
Great ratings and relatively inexpensive compared to some:

OK so before the ribbing starts...I'm not into that metro-man stuff, oils, creams, perfumes and such, but the wifey wanted me to get it so I did and it does a good job of softening up the beard and my skin isn't dry and itchy anymore. I'd never heard of beard oil two weeks ago, but I'm believer now.
Probably the longest I've let it get ... at this length, I get a rash under it that drives me crazy.

This is a more common length ...

To be honest, I don't like beards nearly as much as I despise shaving ... have not owned a razor since August 1st, 1992 (the day I retired from active duty)
I flip-flop between a full beard and a goatee at my whim. I have very little gray on top, but hardly anything but gray in my beard.

I tend to let it grow in the winter. If it was up to my wife I would have the mountain man look all year long.
I don't have any pics handy, but I used to wear my hair down to my waist back in the late 80s and 90s. :D
I have a grey fu man chu but the Redhead {Denise} my wife hates it says I look old LOL I am
I normally don't have one...but a few guy's at church and my team at work decided we would do the no shave Nov. Michele is good with me keeping it for awhile :D

I hate under the neck prickers, so keep it clean down under:taunt:

This little guy flew right into me & landed on my chest .I think he was learning how to fly & thought my beard was his nest . lol. Good thing my beard is thin , if it was full & thick he might of been with me today .:birgitsgiggle:
Here is a pic of the South Florida short beard look I discussed in post #8. The Florida heat and humidity did not work out well for my longer beard lengths.
I can trim this sucker with electric clippers and a "blending" attachment in 15 seconds every 4 or 5 days. Then it's done.
Still tickles bellies though.:victory:

I've had some naysayers suggest I'm cultivating on my face that which grows wild on their ass...

Everyone tells me the same thing, that it makes me look older than I am. I tell them that I'll always be as old as I am and looks has squat to do with it! The idea of looking older than you actually are has its pros concealed. I've always removed the e in ego and the w in want and cherished the h in happiness. It is an unexpected advantage in particular situations. If the wife objects I blame her ego and want providing the unexpected. :duel:,which destroys the h in happiness. I'd end up shaving.
Had the obligatory see through 'stach in high school. Grew one in earnest in 1976, it's been trimmed but never shaved. I figure I grew it in the Bicentennial, I'll shave it for the Tricentennial.

But do you have a beard like him?

This is my late friend, Jim, the previous owner of my trike. A white bearded old Nam Vet , four tours and a Purple Heart.

Me, about 8 years ago.

I usually go to a goatee in the Summer.

Grow the beard back in the Winter. I've had the mustache since 1968.
