Speedometer on VW trike
Ok, I know it's a long shot, but I just bought a California Custom Trike and the digital display doesn't seem to be displaying anything except the time (and it's wrong!) and I their website is no help and I can't get a response from them so....is there an option of installing some sort of after market speedometer?
I have no idea what sort of instrumentation I need on a VW motor but I would like to know how fast I'm going!

James why not just install a GPS that has speed read out. Then you have speed and GPS if need be.

I agree with Gorilla that the GPS is the easiest, quickest solution. There is another solution that is available. http://www.pacificcustoms.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PC&Product_Code=ac957810m&Category_Code=autometer-senders-hardware
This assumes that yours is an irs transaxle.

Thanks guys! I really had no idea you could get a gps speedometer but I'll look into it. I'm going to try to figure out the wiring first and maybe I can see why the display isn't working. It was when the trike was parked five years ago. I've had some other wiring problems but am getting them sorted out.

Here's a manual for your computer. I hope it helps. Mine works great once you figure it out.
