I hate to beat a dead horse but I've been looking around, doing all the reading  and would like to know what tuner everyone recommends and why.

Hi Al. What year Trike and what are you looking for the tuner to do?
Hands down IMO the Power Vision tuner is the best. It is capable of setting timing, adjusting fuel, idle speeds and recording. It also has gauges features. Have a look here for more info and do not hesitate to call for more info. Kevin and Devin have done a lot of testing with this tuner. I have a PV Tuner from D K and it is very user friendly. My 17 M8 Freewheeler was a test mule with this tuner @ D K Customs. You can see the results on their web site. Good Luck in your pick

Are you going to do the tuning or a shop?
If you, PV maybe more user friendly.
If a shop is going to do it, check with them.
What NH Bagger said.
The one I use is a Power Vision from Dynojet, Easy to use very effective and more than just a tuner it has become information central for our old Shiney Engine temperatures gear selection Trip miles etc. etc. Support is really great as well tunes issues all come with a great reputation. Do yourself a huge favor check all of them your can and make an informed choice. Just saying I really like mine but I have not used any other I found no need to. Fred

+1 to what Jack, Richard and Fred said about the PowerVision. It is a wonderful tool, with excellent support from both DK and DynoJet. After you try it, you will be sold.
I have the Power Vison and it has done well.
The power vision is great , but if you have a 2020 and do anything more than mufflers and air cleaner , there are no tunes , do a 117 kit or cams nobody has a tune that will work for shit , then try to find somebody to tune it ?? on a 2020 buy a screamin eagle tuner and buy screamin eagle parts . maybe in a year or so somebody will come up with some tunes for the power vision , if you have 2020 dont buy from FUEL MOTO JAMIE CLAIMS ITS TO MUCH WORK TO MAKE A TUNE FOR A 2020 TRIKE ! ASK HIM Never MIND HE DOES NOT TALK TO CUSTOMERS ?
After trying to choose the best tuner for my 2019 FW,I choose the Vance and Hines FP3 Fuelpak tuner. Why, because it uses no wiring and all communication is wirelessly through Bluetooth on your Android or I-phone. It does everything a Power Vision can do plus it also has a auto tune feature, like PV, which fine tunes a map while riding. Plus Vance and Hines tech assistance is second to no one. The only negative thing is that it is married to your bikes vin and cannot be used again on another bike. I have used Power Vision on my 2016 and 2017 SGS and after comparing it with the FP3,I decided to spend the money on a easier and more features tuner. JMHO

I have a 2016 tri glide with a stage I air cleaner and maybe slip-ons someday. I'm looking for a simple tuner I can do myself.
The power vision has been my choice ... easy to use, great results, and lots of things most people don't use:
Speedo cal
MPG Cal
Range Cal
Lots of info available on demand ... if the ecm knows it, you can too ... :D
I believe the PV instructions are about as good as the get. If you have issues call the help number.

They also have a boat load of videos to help get ya started if your like me and learn by watching ... not so much by reading.

I have a 2020 trike with a PV tune from FM sitting in the tool box, I haven’t used it yet due to a ongoing issue with warranty. I would have no qualms putting into the trike. The rdrs took a little time for the companies to figure out, but they, FM, tune bikes all the time with rdrs. With previous bikes, I’ve talked to Jamie a few times, always pleasant, and helpful.

All I did was email Jamie, he asked me to get the ecm info with the pv, I sent that to him, and in three days I had a tune sent to me. That simple, I believe it’s the ecm strategy that is important for the base tune, and the rest is computer generated based off of 2 wheel tuning, of course, any map that is sent has to be dialed in anyway. I joked a couple times on FB with FM about a trike dyno, maybe they will put one in the new building they just started working on. In the meantime Sheffer Performance does trikes and there are a couple of others around as well. I am considering the 128 kit, lol, but have my reservations about the ability of the triglide to handle that much torque and hp over a long period of time. I don’t think the aftermarket warranty will cover damage from overpowering the drivetrain either. I’ll think about some more during the winter, lol.
When you email FM, include your customer #, I’m sure they will help you out.

I have called Fuel moto many time's, I have Emailed, I have texted They can not send me a tune , the 2 wheel tunes will not work with my 2020 , I was told that by Bob & Even. When I bought all the parts from them Bob & Even they said no problem we will get you a tune that will work ? Then when the motor was done they spoke To Jamie He says he has no trike dyno and he can not do it ? Thats what I was told . I found a shop that will do it, I will wait till spring, remove the woods cam and FM head pipe and go from there . The trike will handle the extra power , Im sure if you go doing dead stop wheel stands , dead stop burns outs you will blow it up .

What upgrades have you done to your trikes motor That Jamie made you a tune ? Maybe your tune will work with my trike ?
Al, you stated, air intake and maybe slip ons. Have you considered XIEDs or VIEDs by Nightrider? I never used them, but some friends are pleased with them when only making minor modifications to their bikes. Maybe worth a look-see.
Be safe everyone!
