I use the Dollar Tree cheap stuff, It does NOT have the oil and foam the expensive brand stuff does

Also, read the ingredients. Make sure there are no solvents or petroleum distillates.
BTW - both Pledge and the Favor are S.C. Johnson products.:Shrug:

Been using the "lemon furniture polish" on my shields for years. If I get really "attacked" by bugs, I keep a spray bottle of 50/50 Hydrogen Peroxide and water. Spritz the bug, wait a minute or two and wipe away. Then go back and spray clean with the lemon furniture polish.

Never used pledge on the trike. I for sure don't use it on wood musical instruments. I refuse to repair something that pledge has been used to polish the wood. Glues will not hold and there is no way to refinish without a total scrape of finish and then start all over again.
