New to Trike Talk
New trike owner from Gun Barrel City, Texas...yes it's a real place in NE Texas on Cedar Creek Resevoir. Been riding two wheels most all my life and V-Star 1300's specifically the last 10+ years. The ravages of old age being what they are (coupled with the follies of a misspent youth) finds me having issues throwing a leg over and maintaining a 700+ pound motorcycle upright. When the fair haired one made mention that my beloved bike was sitting in the garage and looking awfully lonely I explained my challenges...Her..."Why don't you buy a smaller bike?"...Me..."Won't really solve the problems"...Her..."Why don't you buy a Trike"...Me hears..."You should go buy a Trike!"...Her..."At least you won't be hanging around underfoot and I can go ride with you again"...Me..."I should go buy a Trike!"
Wellllll the conversation was almost like that...<Diablo looks around to make sure the Fair Haired One is still in the other room>...So the next week I missed a nice Harley Frankentrike at the auction by $100.00 because the FHO was hungry and wanted to go eat...That night I come across my love...2003 Honda Shadow VT1100 Sabre Motor Trike conversion...And just like that I join a whole new world off on a brand new adventure...Picture attached...<Diablo goes into lurk mode>

DIABLO! Welcome to TrikeTalk from Kerrville, Texas! Always happy to see another Texan on the board!
We are planning another TrikeTalk meet and greet here in Kerrville in April. We have usually held the meet-up the first week of October but decided to change the date next year. No registration fees, no prizes, just show up, ride, eat, and have a good time with some great folks. All trike and bike brands welcome. Watch the thread out here entitled KERRVILLE 2020. It will pop up as posts are made on it or you can find it in the “Texas Gathering” forum.

Thanks for the welcome Paws! I did see the meet'n'greet thread, and will make every effort to attend. Spent lots of time in the Hill Country over the years. It looks like it's only a five hour ride...that's certainly no step for a stepper. I'll be following the thread and see how it develops. We could always do two...I'd be more than happy to put one together for East Texas...lots to see and do around these parts.

Larry, welcome aboard from San Antonio. I love to ride in East Texas. I have passed through East Texas a few times since my friend who was familiar with the area died, but it's not the same as riding with someone who knows the area.
I am looking forward to meeting you and your wife. Come on down to Kerrville in April.

I've already told h....errrrr? asked her if we could be free in April...We're ready. We actually met in Austin and spent the first half of our together life there before moving to Utah for a long spell...We can definitely do Kerrville...it's only a 4-5 hour ride. If anyone is ever near Gun Barrel City I work from home and am generally available for shenanigans!
