Off to Tucson....Again!
Time for another 2600 mile ride to Tucson. Dropping Mrs Bozo off at the airport. Back home and head out Sat afternoon. Right after the rain is supposed to end. In theory.
As the pic shows, I am taking the ride seriously. No Mickey Mouse operation this.
Anybody in Tucson area, drop a note here if you want to meet up. I will be up by Catalina.
My brother and his kids flying in from Switzerland also. Easter/Passover covers us all.:qpnmt:

Sometimes the colors are random, in this case, those are the colors of the Italian flag. I was at a funeral for my Brother-in-laws wife’s brother. They were all born in Italy.
Before that was the Irish flag colors for St Paddy’s day. Haven’t decided on colors for ride.

And now to play catch up while waiting for new rear tires and full fluid changes at Tucson HD.
Left home on Sat at 3:30pm. Rode 23 hrs and 1036 miles straight to near Birmingham AL to detour around really heavy rain. Lots of breaks and energy drinks to go through the night. Plenty of sleep and then rode 13 hrs and 729 miles to just west of Ft. Worth TX. Rain gear finally off in TX. Had been sporadic since TN border.
Last stretch on Tues was 18 hrs and 930 miles. Close to 100’F east/west/north & south of Pecos. Going into hot wind. Nose filters in and bandana over face. No virus or fungal crap getting in me this time. At least I remembered the suntan spray. Got into Tucson at 10pm. Total 2696 miles. Trike ran great. Except into wind. That slowed me down and sucked the gas.
My speaker switch was acting up though. Had my TomTom on and my cell with Waze and music through cable to Aux plug. Some pics from along route.

Out at the Ora Valley 45th anniversary fair. They had music and cupcakes. What more do you need. Obviously, the “Queen” was not amused. So she was going to hop on her miniature pony and ride into the sunset.
Also, got into a water gun fight with a couple of outlaw varmits. Never bring a Nancy Reagan Special to an AK47 fight. I got soaked so bad I thought I was being waterboarded. Those darn nephews slaughtered me (8 & 5 yrs old).

I dropped her at airport last Sat, went home and left by 3:30pm. Made it to Tucson by Tues night. Her doctor has specifically told me she can’t handle long rides anymore. So might have to get more use out of trailer if we head to Maggie Valley or further.
On a different note, who knew it is only 100 years since they dug the Grand Canyon. At least, that’s what the sign says, right? Must be the altitude affecting me.

So my brother came from Switzerland with my 2 young nephews. 5 1/2 & 8 yrs old. Took them out for their 1st rides on a trike (or bike for that matter). The youngest kept yelling “go faster Uncle Bozo”. The older wanted me to go slower. They are begging for longer rides.

Me and my brother took his kids out horseback riding in the hills outside Tucson. Great time had by all, even though only using a 1 horse power engine. Saw a worker carrying a box of horseshoes. I said “Hey, it’s the Al Budney of the West”. My horse was named Bear. It’s true what they say, even if you haven’t ridden for a while, it’s “just like riding a horse”. My brothers horse was Mary, and the kids had Romeo and Champ. The guide said Romeo needed to stay 3rd in line because he tended to move fast...I, of course, yelled out “That’s what Juliet said”.
When we finished, it turned out the youngest had some kind of allergic reaction there was swelling around his eyes and on his arm. Stopped at a pharmacy and got some kids benedryl. Later on went to ER. Breathing not great. Fixed him all up with steroids and other stuff. This kid really manned up and didn’t complain while we were riding. He should have said something.
On another note, I found my spirit animal. The horses ass. Shocker the wife says.
