I use Geico , and is relatively inexpensive.
Hi i have may vw trike insured with state farm.
allstate
I use State Farm for everything except my VW trike. I have that through Allstate.
State Farm had to many hoops to jump... Allstate was just a phone call.
Progressive, for me is $113 per year for $250,000 $500,000 and $100,00 for uninsured motorist.
Progressive is the only one so far that will cover mine and that is liability only. Still have to get a hold of Geico and State Farm. All are saying they don’t cover homebuilt or kit trikes. What else do you call them?
It all depend on the agent, transfered to a different State Farm agent ( 2.5 miles ) to insure a my Yamaha with Champion kit.
Old agent asked why i moved to the other agent, told him he is not smart enough to meet my insurance needs.
Nice or not, the truth.
Old agent said State Farm don't insure trikes. Bike was already insured before it became a trike.
State Farm and Allstate both told me that they don't insure any trike with a VW motor. Geico told me thier speciality dept would, but was on hold for more then 7 hours total on 3 phone calls. Never did get to talk to anyone. Looks like I might just have to go with liability only from Progressive.

Sometimes you have to go and look and ask the agent the ????
and he gives a reason in writing.
You just sit in his office till you get it.
That is the way i do.
I just got the roadhawk insured through Geico. They said they would insure it at least till Sept. when my other 2 polices come back up. I told them this was a mfg. trike with 17 digit vin, so they said they would probably carry it.
Relatively reasonable for full coverage.
2 bb
I use allstate, and got full coverage. The agent first said they couldn't give me full coverage on a kit bike, and I told her it was not a kit, but a completely homemade. She did a little work and research, and was able to do it.
Must be a Ohio thing. I have been to every insurance company and even offered to switch my home and auto over and no one will do a VW powered trike in my area. So it looks like it will be Progressive with liability only.
Allstate insures my daughters V CYCLE Runabout.
I built 2 VW Trikes from scratch in the 70s, and State Farm insured em' with no problems....all I had to do was take em' to the Office and have Photos made for Their Files.....ThumbUp.....I have a 1995 LeBaron Convertible They insure right now...no top, no interior except for front seats and two rubber mats, drain holes in the floorboards, 3 different color body panels....same thing, just Pics for the Files....!!!
Progressive for me on my homebuilt vw trike. Only company that will insure it.
This company said they would, but I like to talk face to face with my insurance rep. So it is still Progressive for me.

I use geico! 145.00 for full coverage
Rsw... progressive for me also.Local Allstate agent said they would with a certified apprasal just have not done it.
I have liability thru state farm.
However, after reading here and other places,
and then confirming with my agent.
State Farm towing will not cover a trike even
if you have full coverage.
Foremost insurance will cover towing up to 250? miles
with full coverage. I am going to switch insurance on the
trike this summer if my road trip comes together.
