Small local Indy shop removed, rebuilt and re-installed mine last month for less than $250.
Jack....You could have it rebuilt ....Or have a mechanical reverse put in...I Had an 11 Tri-Glide and i used reverse a lot ...And i got tired if monkeying with it.. 3 times...Once i put the mechanical in i found out there wasn't any parking spot where i couldn't back out of, Just like i could in a car i could park nose in down hill ,in gravel , grass , and back out of..
My buddy from Paducah had his 2014 rebuilt a couple years ago for around $60.00. I forget where he said he had to ship it to for the exchange. He said it was very easy to change out.

Have you troubleshoot it & verified the actual problem ? Start with checking the breaker, then all connections.
Make sure this is for your model/year trike. I'm seeing an 09 & 09A

Called Papa Zook at Cut-N-Shoot Customs in Conroe Texas, ordered a Champion reverse installed it and know I don't worry about are you going to back up or not. Give him a shout and he treats us members real good

Hey Jack, do you know what the revision on this motor is & or what the difference between 09 & 09A in the p/n?
Also, are they the same for the Tri-Glide & Freewheeler?
Thanks:Dorag:

Not a clue on the part number change Up til recently HD replaced the reverse motors, now the techs are rebuilding them in house
The trikes share a common reverse motor

To make matters more confusing, their is a 09B also, but it says it's superseded. :xzqxz:
Michael, there is another updated part number for this motor that ends with a B suffix
The replacement motors now have a vent hose much like import starters do This keeps moisture out of the starter and helps internal heat ( bad JU JU) to escape;)
