Called another dealer and they quoted me $212 plus tax for installation:xzqxz:. That's a $238 difference. Might be worth the ride down to Orlando.

I would call again to verify the amount. The person you spoke to may have looked in the book for handlebar change out for a motorcycle, not your trike. The dealers around here run specials so maybe they have something going on. Last month mine had 10% off of parts and $100 off on any K service.
Good luck.
Thanks guys. I will definitely verify. :D

Well, the bar change is taking a while. I'm still trying to decide which ones. The HD Bagger Reach Bars would be fine and more comfortable than the ones I have but I really want that extra width for easier turning. I contacted five different dealers about the Khrome Werks Wide Sweepers and each of them assured me that they absolutely will not fit my 2016 Tri Glide :gah:. I know this is not true because several of you have installed them and a couple of you have 2016s like mine.
I have left messages at a couple of independent shops in the area and I'm waiting for them to get back with me. I'm now looking more seriously at the Wild 1 Chubby Bagger Low Bars. They are 34" wide like the Sweepers. Anyone have these?

Good Luck
PS, I use this all the time, If they wont price match Boardtracker gets my order, No tax and FREE shipping on 99 dollars and more

Good luck with your search it's a shame HD dealers are so narrow minded, and greedy. Good luck Those type of dealers are an independent shop best reference. Those chubby bars are nice look at 14" to 16" several people I know have them 12"s are not much higher than OEM they are deceiving on the rise. As long as you do not raise fuel tank to control air flow they will work fine. Fred
I believe they are fibbing, as I have gone to the web site for Khrome Werks and it lists those bars for all bikes with 'Bat Wing' fairings. Read here for yourself: http://www.khromewerks.com/shop/detail/300517A
Thanks guys. I'm getting a little discouraged but I'll get it done. :D
Hi "The One and Only Trike Lady" (:biglol:I love it). Yes. I've been to the website many times. Even emailed them. I don't know why the Harley dealers are saying they don't fit. They say the Narrow Sweepers will fit but not the Wide Sweepers. :xzqxz:
Carol...
Just for funsies you might check out this website, see if they might have something that would work for you. On the right-hand side of the website is listed what they offer for the various bikes by manufacturer.

Thanks for the website. These look like great bars :clapping: I think they are a little out of my budget though.
Funny thing with me is, the part does fit and I install it and prove it to them. I had a 1988 Blue Electra-glide Classic and it had farkles on it that were for newer models. The parts guy said that won't fit an older bike, I purchased a saddlebag top trim that was for 1994 and newer and the radius of the lid didn't change and thus it fit.
There are 6 sets of bars, the only set you cannot use are the ones for the 'Shark nose' fairing.
Don't be discouraged, find an independent shop and ask one of their guys. I had way too much fun making stuff work that I was told wouldn't. If I still lived in Florida I'd be willing to do the job.
I looked to see if someone I knew still had their shop in New Port Richey and no, they have closed up for good. It was a decent shop and the father and son were knowledgeable. Maybe Trikes by Design in Inverness can help you out.
Thanks Trike Lady. I will check out "Trikes by Design".
I have some some feelers out to some independents. One hasn't returned my call, but the other emailed me to say that he was out of town for the next 5 days and will put a quote together for me as soon as he gets back.
Always happy to get a referral to a reputable shop :D.
You're welcome.
I used to have a rolodex with shop names and now I have bookmarks with shop names and parts suppliers. I always share the info with others.
Here's one of the pics of the blue dresser I was mentioning. the light bar on the tour pak was not meant for a 1988 but yet its on there, as is the fancy chrome rail trim. One day I'll put all this stuff on a 1TB hard drive for easier access, instead of digging through CDs. There were more parts that went on the bike sitting on the storage unit with drawers.

Did they ever get back with you for the new handlebars for the trike?
