My lower trunk open warning does not show up on dash
I have a 2006 GL 1800 with a 2012 RS conversion. I have written you in the past about the installer but at the time I didn't know the lower trunk indicator didn't work because I didn't know it was supposed to work. Then I saw a friends 08 GL with a 2012 RS conversion and when he opened his lower trunk the right side saddle bag warning came on his dash.
Now I've gotten to the point that I want mine to work so it's torn down AGAIN and I can seem to find the problem.
Can you give me some help as to where to start to find the problem? And maybe even how to fix the problem?
Thanks

Hello, sorry to hear about that issue but thanks for the opportunity to let us help out. There is wiring included in the kit to allow the "Right Saddlebag Open" warning to come on the screen when the trunk isn't shut all the way. However, if it was not installed when the trike kit was obviously it won't work. The best thing to do is give us a call at 800-331-0705 and ask to speak with Mark Wenzel - he is our head Honda tech and can walk you through the proper steps to get that working again, or get you the wiring if it's not on your kit.
Thanks!
Re: My lower trunk open warning does not show up on dash
I read your install manual again today, took the trunk off, took off the wheels, looked at wire diagrams and finally got up close and personal with the wires going to the right turn signal and found out that the great installer had covered the necessary wire with black tape and taped it along the wire bundle going to the right turn signal/tail light. Anyway I have been trying to get this taken care of since I found out that there even was a signal to show that the trunk was open.
This is just one more thing that I have had to take care of since my installer did such a poor job on my trike.
Thanks for your help and for reading.
