I wound't be surprised if after all is said and done a ''New Battery'' would solve the problem..AKA---Occam's Razor....
It has a new battery. Electrical is my weakest skill going to try to see what I can find with test light.
I would first scan the ECM to see codes, this will give you an idea where to look for the problem
You could have multiple codes stored now
I agree after some thought. I had to go online and order the 4 pin cable to connect my handheld to the motorcycle ob connector. It's arriving today. Wish me luck.
Just curious. The new battery was installed to correct this problem or previous to this problem? I had a battery less than 2 weeks old go bad in a similar manner. Battery showed 12.6 but put load on it drop right off. Leave it sit for a minute and the voltage would slowly come up to normal.
I replaced at the start of the issue. It cranks just fine..bike starts and runs a few moments and then everything goes dead.
After pulling out half the hair I have left I got out out my miners headlight and magnifying glass and I found hair line Crack in the circuit breaker. Replaced it and so far all seems OK. Waiting until after lunch and I'll take it on a trial run to be sure. Wish me luck.

Good Luck, and check back in;)
Rode for an hour yesterday afternoon. No issues. Thanks for all your help. Let this be a note to everyone "always wear your glasses" if you can't see. 😉
Good morning. Have an electrical issue on my 2001 Rood King. Riding home and everything went dead at stop sign. Everything went dead. No lights...nothing. turned switch off then on and started right up. Got to my driveway and everything dead again. I coasted to a stop. Nothing at all...everything dead. Parked for the night. Next day checked battery dead. Trickle charged...bike started but everything went dead again after 5 to 10 seconds. After few seconds light come back on. Hit starter..starts..runs 5 seconds..then everything goes dead. When it goes dead, the flasher behind the battery clicks ...any ideas?
Good to know you found the issue,if I have this issue with my 2002 Road King I will try and remember this post.
