I went with the IRS for easy adjustment in the rear height area and it kept the wheels vertical[ATTACH=CONFIG]48357[/ATTACH].
IRS is the better handling and driving.
Swing is simpler to make suspension for.
Best gearing will be a late model single side cover IRS.
I have a swing axle but wish I had a IRS
