It is sad to see the circus close since it was such an entertaining delight.
As a kid in the 1950's, I had the opportunity to see the show a couple of times.
I never could get enough of it.:D
Great memoriesThumbUp
A sad day indeed.
This is a direct result of the PETA folks unrelenting attacks on the organization, & its use of animals that were bred specifically to perform.
As well as the politically correct crowd pushing their agenda on the circus, for numerous weak reasons.
With those external pressures contributing to low ticket sales, the circus had no choice.
Too bad for the kids of our nation who will be denied the entertainment the circus has provided for previous generations of Americans, myself included....:(
Theres a time for everything...:wave4: And sadly an end time...:(
Welcome to the new millinium generation of Posers,
A good spanking never hurt anyone, the word respect doesn't exist anymore, common sence got smoked out of the brain cell, the true meaning of site seeing got replaced with texting while driving or riding shotgun, even the "I Know " answer is next to the "What Ever" slot 👾
I'm just glad my children got to see the Ringling Brothers Circus as I have a few times.
BTW; no anamals were hurt or abused during this rant :qpnmt: and clowns don't 😳 scare me.
Reckon if I want to see a circus I'll have to vacation in D.C. or Mar a Lago... :xzqxz:
Was visiting with some rodeo livestock suppliers and promoters this past week and the general feeling is that the PC/PETA police are going to go after rodeos next. My family raises roping calves and bulls for various rodeos and cutting horse competition around the country. A lot of the promoters are holding back to see what happens. Several county fairs have already cancelled their livestock orders. And for those who don't know rodeo livestock is treated very well. The only reason a bull bucks is because of a strap they tighten around his mid-section when he comes out of the chute and not because they hit them with a hot shot or hurt them in any way. They are bucking trying to get that strap off.
Pretty soon they'll be coming into your home to see if you're treating you pets properly.

I'm not surprised. They always seem to know what's better for you, or your pet, than you do.
What would we do without 'em?

When was the last time kids ran away to join the Circus.?
Kids now days don't run away to a place where they have to Work....
Don't forget there are a couple smaller circus' out there that need our support. And as may come as no surprise....I was a guest clown one night in 1996 at beginning of show for Ringling Bros. And I also blew the whistle to start the full show. At the same venue they held their last show at.:qpnmt:
