Hi everyone,I am trying to find out how a Spyder ABS system works.I am working on an electric 3-wheel drag/straight-line experimental vehicle and I'd like to borrow the ABS system from a Spyder.Could anyone please share information on how many sensors there are and if the system works standalone (pressure regulator, sensors, controller, without ECU)?Thank you,George

I previously owned a Spyder 2014 RTL. I know the ABS is linked to the stability system through the ECM. There are probably other links as well. That's what makes the Spyder so difficult to service. Everything is computer controlled and linked together. And BRP is keeping close control on who can work on and service their vehicles by having proprietary systems and diagnostic tools.

I had a 2008 Spyder....And i can attest to the fact that BRP keeps a lot of the workings of the Spyder close to their vests....

[size=3]I'm pretty sure the ABS system of a Spyder will not work without the brains of the Spyder. Not a stand alone unit. As mentioned above, the stability control system is at the root. I guess the bigger question at least to me, does any ABS system work stand alone? Maybe one of the very first on BMW's maybe? I really don't know.[/SIZE]

Thank you, guys, for the quick answers. I'll try to look somewhere else for a more open system that can be "borrowed". Any suggestions are very welcome.
