Belly Pan
I have a 2013 GW with a 2017 HTS kit that has the step on running boards (a cross member underneath). I have already had to replace the reserve coolant tank due to road damage. I would like to get a belly pan to make sure that doesn't happen again, but I'm not sure with the way the kit is designed, if I can find a belly pan that would work. Any ideas?

I'm guessing the belly pan would work ... depending where the cross member is, it might be rough getting the pan on. How much clearance between the cross member and the exhaust trim? Where does the cross member cross? Toward the back? Is the cross member removable long enough to mount the pan?

Go to the Honda forum, then belly pans thread.
Or, at the top of this page do a search for belly pans. There are a number of posts out there you may find useful. Hope this helps.

I have a 2010 Goldwing with a Roadsmith kit and running boards installed............with a belly pan installed I've had no problems, and I do all of my oil changes, with no problems..[you do have to lift up your trike off the ground at least four inches to get oil pan under engine..... use of jack, and 3 4x4 boards under each wheel helps....

Dang it!
I don't remember, and really don't believe it's printed on it anywhere.....I'll climb under the bike to look, to see if I can find a model ## BUT I can say that there are two screws that have to be removed and a small front section of the pan has to be removed to get to the oil bolt and oil filter, then just replace when done with oil change..."easy pessy" no big deal, but it does save the filter from ever being broken during a ride if something hits it.... THIS EXTRA PROCEDURE takes approx two/three extra minutes ...Has this belly pan ever saved me from a problem (????) that I'll never know, BUT I can say that the bottom of it looks like it's been through wwIII so it's totally protecting the bottom of my engine from something.....GLAD I did purchase it, after seeing it's bottom....and knowing that it's not the bottom of my expensive motor..

OK I did manage to crawl under the bike this morning, the best I could, with a flash light, BUT I could not see a name printed anywhere....:blush: Sorry! BUT I can say that it does totally take any worries away about smashing the oil filter or bottom of your motor..:) And changing oil/filter is still no problem/just remove the front case, this takes two screws that have to be removed and the front case slides right out....1st time doing it, may take an extra five minutes, after you do it once then it may take approx two extra minutes....

I have one on my 07 with a 2015 Roadsmith HTS Kit . Not sure the brand. It was on the bike when I bought it with 3800 miles before the conversion. I don’t think it was altered during the conversion.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa THAT'S THE NAME of my belly pan...(sorry old age does set in) it should fit w/o any problems...I'm glad that I have mine, I did install it myself, it's really not a hard job....I believe that you'll be happy, just knowing that your engine, and oil filter will be WELL protected................

I just purchased a stainless steel belly pan yesterday.
hopefully it will get here by the 13th Jan.
It may be a while before I can install it though.
I hear from all the posts I read it is easy to install except the edges are extremely sharp, and they warn to wear gloves when installing.
I intend to do that, but also smooth the edges as much as possible.

I ordered my Stainless Steel Belly Pan yesterday and it should be here sometime around the 13-15 of Jan.
As I have read from other post around the web the edges are extremely sharp and great care should be taken.
I plan on de-burring the edges before installation but still plan on wearing gloves too.
The thought was that the SS would be more durable and stronger that the AL ones. I just hope the additional $30.00 was worth it.
I hope to get it installed before the Florida trip but who knows. :shark:
I'll let you know what I think of it when I get it next week.

Hey Burnerboy
Sorry to say I have not got the belly pan installed yet. I have had other parts to install and make (trunk carpet for one).
Belly Pan, backrest, fix the trunk weather strip, made a trunk carpet from a pattern sent me.
Ordered some stuff for future maintenance, oil and oil filter, coolant, intake horn screens, air filter, trunk light.
Although I have a heated garage I have limited room on both side of the trike.
Limited like I cannot lay down beside it because all the junk I have in the garage.
I was planning on a weekend maintenance day for myself and get it all done at once.
That may not be till late March sorry to say
