Roadsmith trike and michelin tire
Hi All,
I am new to this site and a first time trike owner. First, I noticed when I logged on to this site, that someone had posted a question regarding the 2012 goldwing and a Roadsmith conversion kit. The answer--if not already addressed--is yes Roadsmith does have a conversion kit for the 2012. I recently visited the Trike Shop in White Bear Lake MN and they had a new 2012 Gl1800 with the conversion kit installed on the show floor ready for the road:GL1800::GL1800:. Let me say, it was sharp!
Now, a question for those of you who have owned a trike for awhile: I too replaced the front stock tire with the michelin pilot with the tread in reverse. I have noticed a slight vibration in the front end at low and high speed. At the suggestion of the Trike Shop, I had centrematic balancers installed along with bar weights on my kury grips. It helped some, but I still notice the vibration. Can anyone tell me if running the tire in the opposite direction as intended produces a vibration? Has anyone else experienced this and if so, did you find a remedy or is this something I will have to live with? Thanks and I look forward to the sharing of informaion!
Re: Roadsmith trike and michelin tire
I too mounted a Michelin reversed rotation and used Dyna Beads inside the tire. I noticed a vibration at slow speed under 30 mph at first. 8000 miles later, the vibration is not an issue any more. Getting great wear on the front tire. This will be the first year since 2007 that annual tire replacement both front and rear will not be needed. $ in the bank!

what changed in those 8000 miles ?
Re: Roadsmith trike and michelin tire
I installed the MPA on my 2012 Roadsmith. I was very impressed with the handling but was shocked that I also got a much better ride from it than I did the stock front tire.
