You can run your rear brakes as you want, they might be a little touchy at first but do you have any front brakes? If you do decide to plumb it in keep in mind you may need a proportioning (sp) valve to control amount of fluid going to front and rear brakes so you don't fly over the handlebars.

I'm using a handlebar mounted Harley m/c for the front brake, and a 2 pound residual valve for the rear discs, as the m/c sits lower than the calipers. I'm just hoping that 2x the fluid going to the rears (joining each line from the m/c with a tee) doesn't have the same effect as a single, larger bore piston in the m/c, which would lessen the mechanical advantage.
