Handlebar Switches
Im having trouble with both switch pods on a 2004 GL1800A. The radio channel up/down switch doesnt work on the left handlebar and the reverse button on the right handle bar wont disengage. Ive got new units to replace them. How far into the trike do I have to open it up to change them? Any help greatly appreciated......Ken

Handlebar Switches.....
if you follow the wiring from the switches you will end up in vicinity of the left pocket and the right pocket respectively...you should find a connector at the end of switch harness....without an ETM I cannot tell you exactly where the cables terminate... you may have to remove the seat.... normally if you spray the switches with contact cleaner liberally then work the switches you may save yourself some $$$ ...maybe you can return the switches....
the honda switches come from mother honda with lube in them that over time has a tendency to harden.... this has been going on way before the 1800 came into being... I have owned 5 different wings over the years.... and they all had this problem. The worst was on my 92 1500 the mute switch would stick and the same for 3 way flasher.... it was so bad that I was afraid to push it....because I would stick...
On my 07 wing one of the first issues I had was with the foglight switch....same problem.... cleaned it now it works fine.... if you look on the internet there are lots of videos and discussion about the honda handlebar switches....
good luck if you have any questions feel free to ask.... or PM me if u like....

You can take the reverse switch out and clean it.
