Isle of Man
Isle of Man TT is an insane event and the riders that do it have some amazing skills. Just imagine a single lap is 37.73 MILES and these guys average over 130 MPH covering that distance in under 19 minutes...worth a watch if you've never seen it before. And just think, this rider, John McGuinness, is 50 years old

First 100+ mph lap was set by "Slippery Sam", a Triumph 750 Trident. It went on a win 5 year's in a row ('70, '71, '72, '73, & '74). Dunlop developed a tire for the Triumps, with "trigonic tread design" as the other then current production tires were being shredded. They named the Roadmaster K-81 tire the "TT100". The motorcycle "Slippery Sam" started out as a factory entry, but in the later races was raced in private hands.

:AGGHH:Looking back I have to ask myself, 'ow in 'ell did I write "Son of Sam"? I had to edit it once seen, though I really intended just to add the link.
