new here
I am a fan of Sidecars. For 3 and 1/2 years had a budget one mounted on a 1996 Harley FatBoy it worked very well. It is now mounted on a 2015 Harley Street 750 and performance is outstanding. It's main purpose is for a granddaughter that is in a wheel chair so she can ride. And ride she does so far about 4,000 miles in it not bad for 9 year old.
I ride 20-60K a year between 3 bikes. Wife rides with me on the Touring bike about 30% of that. Age is catching up. Heavy full Touring bike all the stuff adds up. To prepare we are putting a sidecar on our 2017 RGU.
It will be detachable. Looking at a Hannagan Classic Twin. Stopping by their shop in May to look it over on a ride. I have already ordered the parts for a Harley Trike front end for the rake.
The Trike tubes are about 2 inches longer so Bike will be a stock height with Hack off. The Trike steering stabilizer is a nice factory fit . The front end will go on after our May ride. That will give me time to ride it with no hack attached. I will have the Sidecar attached by local HD dealer. They have always done right by me and figure keeping some of the money near home is the way to go.
I am listening so if you have experience offer it up.

1996 FB with same sidecar installed I can switch them in less than a hour.

Rob' Welcome to Trike-Talk............:wave4:

Thanks for the welcome, I have been riding 49 years. The first sidecar was meant for one thing let Payton ride a little. I never dreamed it would work as well as it did. I fell for it.
When it was moved to the 750 Street I got a lot of the it will never work, it can't pull it ect. The 750 Street pulls it better than the Fatboy. At 80 MPH it is stable. Almost don't know the hack is there.

Yep you are just up the road a bit.

The Main reason for switching the hack from the Fatboy to the street was to give me time to go over the FB. Bike has been a round a while and I want it to last another 20 years.
Going into the swap to the 750 Street I assumed it would be an in town setup only. In my mind saw it as to small and weak. I was so wrong on that. Worked out so well with Payton's approval we are keeping it on the Steer. I think she is teasing me about wanting to paint it Pink.
We had planned on it taking most of the winter to move the sidecar over. With two 9 year old Grandchildren helping it was done in a week. If anyone has plans to do something like this and has question just ask. It was no where near as hard as some make it out to be.
I do not normally get excited about a project with the bikes. Age has mellowed that. However putting a sidecar on the 2017 RGU has me excited. This is the next project.
Sidecars were once normal they were every where. Now there is just so little information out there about them. I have a goal of sparking more interest in them.

Can't wait to get the bill for color matching the sidecar. Two youngest Grandchildren picked that color.
