Years ago the Japanese were accused of dumping trying to put Harley out of business. Harleys product was nothing to get excited over, and nobody was. I think people just never recognize the enemy from within.

IMO, if folks aren't buying a traditional gas powered V Twin with all of its inherent problems I doubt they would buy into an electric motor cycle now

10 years from now 90% of the people on this forum will be worried about adult diapers not riding motorcycles so they don’t give a rats ass about what Harley Davison does or doesn’t do…..

This doesn't pass the smell test. HD's going to drop the entire production of a product they have been successfully selling for 125 years to sell something nobody wants? The Livewire was a financial disappointment to put it mildly. A fun toy, I'm sure, but not at that price point and it's fraught with the same glaring issues of electric cars past and present. Ie: You can't go anywhere!
And lets not even get into the range issues of electrics in hot or cold weather. Anything out of the ideal temperature zone and you can forget those estimated mileage figures they talk about. On the other hand this is an MSM report, not exactly a paragon of trustworthiness. 'Course there's nothing we can do about it, except point out the absurdity. If the decision is made to go that route HD will be no more and that's that, isn't it?

Very good write up JT
I would add, let's say it is true, HD would have to spend millions to retool their factory, do you think the Feds would pay for this? My guess is no
Next up, would they build any kind of touring bikes or trikes?
My guess is no
Who would they market to?
The younger ( than us that kept them a float) would have very little interest in a lectric bike that goes 300 miles buzzing not thumping
