I assume you have rear drum brakes
Mine is disk. After doing some research(even a blind finds a nut once in awhile)Its used in disk brakes systems to reduce the amount of pedal travel.
The disk brake one has a different lbs holding then the drum. So make sure you get the correct one

Mark, Usually disc brakes use a 2-3 lb residual check valve so that any irregularities in the rotor runout will not push the brake pads and pistons back into the calipers. This should eliminate the need to pump the pedal to get brake pressure after riding a while not using the brakes.
Drum brakes need it (10 lb) when the master cylinder is allowing too much fluid to return to the master cylinder, or the M/C reservoir is mounted below the brake system.
If you use the 10 lb on disc brakes they would drag even more than they already do.
Thanks Jim.I just wondered its purpose with disks.I know it sure makes bleeding this thing a pain but I finally got it and have strong brakes now.
