When I had mine (Harley TLE Car) I had a front tire on the bike and sidecar and a rear tire on the back of the bike.
I wish I could have found a car tire for the back b/c I was getting less than 3,000 miles out of the rear tire before it was slick. I am SURE it had to do with my bad riding habits and using the rear brake to get me around the corners.
The reason for the front tire on the sidecar was basically a noise thing. I never had to replace it no matter how I abused it.

My 98 ultra. Got 3-4 thousand miles on rear dunlop. Always ran original dunlop on frt and car with no issues. Know guys that run newer michelin style [with straighter thread design] on rear to get more miles they say per change.
