I applaud each of your for your strength, attitude, and courage in the face of adversity. That alone makes you a hero in my book! I too have moved to a trike due to age and injuries suffered in Vietnam. The old legs just needed some ASSISTANCE! As with each of you, I still love my motorcycle, and the people that ride them.

I am disabled, tho my Dr got the Administration to accept their notes saying I could still ride, It may not be the best thing for me BUT here it is they ALL agreed it would not affect my SS, as long as I was not trying to lift the bike up with my broken worn out back
It does not matter to me what you ride
It is all about getting in the wind as much as you can and safely
One day as i parked my Trike in a handicapped spot, This woman said to me ' I didn't know you can get handicapped placards for a motorcycle , I just smiled and said , The Trikes not handicapped, I am......She just walked away in a Huff....:laugh:

I ride with a friend who has a disabled lic plate for his 2 wheeler. He never parks in the parking spaces bur parks on the end of the spaces. He for sure gets lots of looks when he ges off the bike and goes for the cane. Jim

I have one good leg and one prosthetic leg. I have a license plate that allows me to park in handicapped spaces and MANY people have spoken out about it when I park in one. They fail to understand that basically I have no trouble sitting. It's walking any distance that gives me problems. To them, if I can ride a trike or a bike, then I am not handicapped. It used to bother me. Now I just ignore their ignorance.
i'm a above the knee left leg amp. and have a handicap placard that i don't use on the trike, because someone could just grab it and walk. the thing that pissed me off is if you want a handicap plate for your bike , you have to give up one of the placards that i keep in our cars. this is in Missouri and is really stupid. i always try and park close, but i just think at this point there are alot of older people and more f--kedup than me that could use that space. so until i can't make anymore i'll let others take my spot. what really makes me mad though is i've watched people with handicap placards get out of the cars and run into the stores. i guess anyone can get a placard nowdays if you get the sniffles. no shame !
After "losing" a hanging placard to a thief not long ago, I had a friend make me a blue/white decal copy of my replacement placard.
I have it mounted on the rear in close proximity to the plate, so no ticketing agent mistakes my bike for a "cheater" in a h/c parking spot.
