Mother's Aluminum Polish and The Bib Red Ball Review.
Someone posted awhile back about cleaning their Trig Glide Wheels with Mothers Aluminum Polish, but there weren't pics (can't remember why, or who .. I am getting old). We all know that one of the pet peeves on the Tri is the Nekid Aluminum wheels. We've tried clear coating, all kinds of products with varied results.
I went to O'Reilly's and they had the Mothers stuff on sale. I( got a bigger tub of the polish and the Big Red Ball thing. That's been awhile ago as the little trailer has take most of my time and energy.
This morning was the day. Backed the FBG out of the garage, wiped the wheels with a damp micro fiberr towel and dried the with another.
While I waited for them to dry, I did a test on a scrap piece of aluminum, I chose the piece I did because it had 2 screws in it that I could push into my expand metal table to hold it.

After, I didn't get the ball too close to the edges, they are sharp and didn't want to tear the ball up:

Satisfactory Test, so on to the wheels.

Summary:
I love the Big Red Ball, Fearless was right about that. I put the extension on it and will probably try it without that next time. Might be able to have a little batter control. Did I spend hours on the wheels? Be real ... LOL ... Maybe five minutes on each wheels polishing and ten minutes each getting the polish off. Do they look like I chromed them? Nope, but, they are much cleaner and I suspect if you do this several times, even if it's over time, they will get much better each time. The wheels had a "rough feel" (machining marks?), still do, but maybe not as much.
