Raking a VTX 1300?
I just found this forum tonight. This may be too little too late, but I'll ask anyway.
I'm putting an offer in on a Honda VTX 1300 triked by Motor trike, tomorrow morning. I haven't ridden in many years, and never on a trike. I took it for 45 minute spin on Saturday. I think it will be a good fit for me. However, as everyone knows, it's tough to corner at slow speed. My question is how much of a difference/is it worthwhile to rake the front end on a lighter bike like this?
I suppose I should drive it a thousand miles and see what I think. But on the other hand, it would be more convenient for me to just have the dealer rake it before I take it home. I've been reading that extending the rake makes a phenomenal difference on a big Gold wing. Just wondering what folks think about this bike.

Steve.......RAKE IT!!!!! Believe me, it is a night and day difference in ease of steering and therefore in your pleasure in riding.

Well, i bought the trike today. But it won't be ready until tomorrow.:( I'm going to muscle it around for a thousand miles or so, then decide on the rake kit or not.
