Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
The cheap spray bombs from where ever will work great on it and no sanding needed to mak it stick.

Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
Thanks for your response..
I think overall I am a head of the game Trailer/carrier/wood material/ nuts & bolts/ ... At or about $300.00
Still need to buy paint
Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
I bought the same kind of trailer from Northern Tool.
A friend built a wooden box for me (I needed 20" high and couldn't find a container).
But either way, this is a LOT cheaper than buying a pre-made trailer. They seem to run $1500 and up.
Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project

Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
they make that paint that you use on plastic lawn chairs I have used it before and it works as it says it will.
Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
You can also use regular automotive paint and use the plastic additive. I think it looks good the way it is.
Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
For rattle can fans Rustoleum makes a primer just for plastic (I just bought a can)
Good luck with it.
Nice looking trailer!!

If you want an idea to add some color to your carrier, how about using reflective pin striping to give yourself some color variance and additional reflectivity? Heres a link to a supplier who sells reflective pin stripping >>> Streetglo Reflective Tape. Reflective Pinstripe Pinstriping Installation Conspicuity tape

PS, Im going to copy your trailer and add mud flaps on my HF trailer :)

Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
Hello all
I connected my trailer to the bike and when I turn on the turned signals my trailer blinks the opposite direction. When connected to my vehicle no problem.
Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
Sounds like your taps into the bike turn signal wiring are reversed.

Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
Great Idea! Going to make myself one! I like the cargo carrier idea! Thanks!
Re: HF 4x3 trailer Project
Well since I have a three day weekend I decided to mess around with the trialer and got the lights now working correctly. So I headed out for a run with the bike and trailer ( first time) thru local rodes at 45 MPH tops. I tell you I though I did not even have the trailer back there at one point had to pull over and check. It ran pretty good. When I hit the 30 MPH with rough rodes I can hear the trailer but ran straight behind the bike. So Thinking of now putting on the cargo box to check things out.
