Now you understand why I had to back out from Maggie Valley this year. We are awaiting results from a genetics test to choose our next step. Since she has a brother with pancreatic cancer and had a sister with two different types of breast cancer, she is likely to have all the markers that we don't want. That decides whether its a lumpectomy with radiation, a mastectomy or a double mastectomy. But it's all good as Jesus will guide us.

Amen, I will keep y'all on the prayer chain
Cancer is evil, I have seen it up close, it took my daughter at an early age
It sure needs more funding, but I dunno how we get out government more involved?

Well, time for an update. Becky had been diagnosed with DCIS breast cancer which is considered an early detection. This was a good thing. Then she had a "Genetics Test" performed. She was positive for PAL B2. This is about 55 to 60% that you will have breast cancer and about 20% chance for developing pancreatic cancer.
She currently has a brother with stage four pancreatic cancer and has had a deceased sister who had breast cancer twice in her life and another brother who is deceased and suffered with prostate cancer so as you can see a lot of family history with cancer.
So she decided to have a bilateral mastectomy. They took several lymph nodes from her right side (that's where the cancer was primarily located) and the biopsy came back negative. THANK GOD! So for right now she is cancer free!!! Still recovering from her surgerys but getting a little better each passing day. Thank You all for your wishes and prayers.

[QUOTE=TwoBye;853981]For the past few weeks we have been undergoing testing then biopsies and finally surgery because of a mammogram Bec had back in July. Yesterday we learned she has breast cancer. Although it is a very common variety and one that they say is easy to treat with radiation alone, we are beginning this journey together. We ask for your help with some prayers and keep us in your thoughts until we put this thing to rest. Thanks ..... and perhaps we'll see you on the road soon.

Prayers on the way I hope all goes well
