Newby to 3 wheels
Just joined Trike Talk as I sold my SGS and moving to a Freewheeler. The old enemy-arthritis-resulted in my decision to forego the 2 wheels yet apprehensive as to how quickly I will become accustomed to 3. Been way too many years since I rode a tricycle. Anyway, thought it best to say hello and always open to learning as much as I can. Freewheeler has not yet arrived...being shipped from Wisconsin. Wife still rides her Fat Boy Lo. Will have to learn how to control the M8 114...a 2019 in Vivid Black.

Welcome to the family, James!
:welcome:
I understand your apprehension moving from two wheels to three… I made the move last year myself.
Trust me when I say that you’ll get the hang of things quickly, and once you get comfortable you’ll ask yourself why you didn’t make the move sooner!
You’ll get great advice here… besides learning the basics like steer versus lean, keeping your feet on the floorboards, etc, my one bit of advice is to “fit the trike to you”. It’s not a “one size fits all” experience.
Subtle modifications such as bars and a lift kit for example can make a major improvement toward your overall riding comfort and experience.
Enjoy and congratulations!

Thank you for your warm welcomes. As my initial message stated I initially was waiting for delivery of a Freewheeler from Wisconsin. Plan plans, don't plan results. But I did purchase and receive a 2019 Vivid Black FLRT from Florida. With only 1179 miles on the trike it is just barely broken-in. Also included with the purchase was a Letter from H-D regarding the Recall which I do need to get done. I have added a few items already, my intentions are to compliment my wife's ride by utilizing the same floorboards, shifter pegs and brake pedal all done in what H-D called Slipstream. Just a bit of "bling" Chrome and Black are a natural combination. Again, thanks to all for your warm wishes and welcoming messages.

Welcome from about 2 hrs up the road. You will like it. Specially when you make it yours. Arthritis made me make the move 2 years ago but I still have my 07 FLHTC with 114000 miles on it. We’ve already put over 10000 miles on ours and plan on several trips this year.
