Weber 34 ict question

Just put new Weber 34 ict's on my stock 1600cc type 1 trike. From the factory it came with 60 idle and 145 main. On adjusting the carbs to Weber's specs the left carb mixture ended up at 2 and the right at 1 7/8 to the best of my ability which is in the middle of what Weber said it should be. The instructions said to set the idle screw on 1 3/4. It said to not going in on the idle screw no more than the initial setting. My problem is my idle is to low ( 500 to 600). Has anyone had this happen to them and what did they do to get the idle up.
I have read about drilling a 1mm hole in the butterfly helps but I don't want to start drilling unless it is necessary. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you balance the carbs yet? When you say that one is 2 turns and the other it 1 7/8 turns; is this doing the balance on them?

What I did was I had the speed screws at 1 3/4. When I adjusted the carbs the left carb sounded good at two turns out and the right carb at the 1 7/8. Then I balanced them leaving the mixture screws at that. The left carb was little high so I brought it down a hair to match the other and my idle is low. I was just trying to leave the idle screws at 1 3/4 or less. I may have to go in more on them to get it to idle up. If you could give me your idea on how to adjust them I would appreciate it. When I was building my sand rail powered by a 1974 Porsche 914 DC motor that was once fuel injected we changed it over to a carb using a Webber manifold. The prob was we ears ate so expensive. My buddy suggested I replace the Webber with a pinto carb 34/36 I bought it on eBay remanufactured for 60.00 it worked perfect found out the pinto carbs are also webers but made for ford cheap and it was flawless
