pics of my trike hauler trailer
Greetings, I'm still struggling to figure out how to do everything on this site but have managed to upload pictures to an album so far. I put a couple of pictures of the trailer I have been setting up to haul the trike to AZ next month. Not sure if I can insert it in this message but am giving it a try.
Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
that looks really nice. It looks like it's aluminum is it?
Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
Yes, it's aluminum with torsion axles. I have D-Rings mounted in all four corners to tie the trike down.

Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
I looked at a number of different styles including enclosed ones. Didn't like the enclosed type as I plan on using I for a variety of things in addition to hauling the trike. For this winter trip I'm shrink wrapping the trike and tarping it. I found a removable enclosure that I'm going to build a frame for and get a local trap company to make the tarp for it. Here's a picture of what I want it to look like.

Looks good.
You can go anywhere with it.

What a difference torsion axles make overa leaf spring type axles. You'll really be suprised and pleased. IMHO

What is the weight of the trailer?
Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
Hi,
The trailer weight is 560 lbs. Here's a link to the company website for specs

Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
What are you going to use to pull the trailer when it's loaded? The trailer looks nice and with the tarp system you showed it may rattle a little but will protect the trike and whatever other cargo you can get put packed around it. Very nice, it looks like you could travel a long way with no problems.
Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
I am wondering what SIZE is your trailer? I see they have 10 & 12 footers.
Inside dimensions? and no problem going into trailer with your exhaust?:cxtv::Coffee:
Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
I like that tarp idea!! Let me know what it costs.
I already have a steel utility trailer but I wish I would have known about these aluminum ones before I bought mine. We are trailering down to Alabama this summer instead of riding. Wife is getting too old to endure 8 hrs a day any more...

Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
I will be pulling the trailer with my 2010 Silverado 4x4 crew on our Arizona trip in a few weeks just because the roads can be nasty and I've never trailered it through the mountains before. I usually pull it with a 2012 Toyota Rav4 4x4 with a v6 and it handles the load well.
The trailer is 72" wide inside the side walls and 120" inside the front wall to the tail gate.
Loading when on perfectly level ground is fine. The middle of the trike gets quite close to rubbing on the floor at the top of the ramp because of the low clearance. The tail pipes are no problem. I have a couple of 2x10 x 60" ramps with the aluminum brackets on them that I used with another trailer for loading an ATV that I take along too. If I set these on the trailer ramp about a foot behind the back of the trailer bed I have all kinds of clearance.
There is one place in Minnesota that quoted me $1,800 complete for a cover something like the one in the picture but I still want to check with a local company when I have time this spring.
I hope I covered all your questions guys.
PS. right now it is blizzarding here and I drove my truck through a 30" deep snow bank to get into the garage. Ready to head south for a while for sure.
Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
If you are coming south today, I hope the wind isnt a problem
It is really BLOWING in the central plains.
Re: pics of my trike hauler trailer
Hi werewolf.
Our trip south is the second week of February and it can't get here soon enough!!!!!!
Not going anywhere today here, wind is gusting to 65 - 70mph and visibility is about 100yards or less. I have a lake to the north and the south of my place so snow is drifting up around the place. Have to get the diesel tractor out and blow snow after a while.
