How do you steer a bike with a sidecar? Does it still lean or do you actually steer it by turning the handlebars like a trike? I read a story where a mechanic took one for a test ride after working on it and drove right into an oncoming vehicle so I'm assuming it steers different than a regular bike.
steers like a trike... although some are not a rigid setup so the bike leans an steers like a regular 2 wheeler
one big difference the sidecar can come off the ground in a right hand turn,,,

Left out Sunday to haul the sidecar down. 1,100 miles round trip. Spent the night and dropped it off Monday morning. Spent time going over what needs to be done to and the paint. I did not spend to much time looking at whet they had around this trip. If i had the trailer may not have come home empty. This link has some bike you may enjoy looking at.

Some information that may help others. BAS bank angle sensors also referred to as Tip. it has become an issue over the years as it must be disabled for a sidecar or trike.
in the past there have been work around . Different ways at different times . More and more ECU/BCM's are having access blocked .
Dealers have been tell those like us the BAS can not be disabled period. Even a big company that makes tools to change the ECM Daytona can not do it on any of the 2017 and newer bikes.
I purchased a Centurion from Techno research than can do it and proved it this morning. With a short learning curve set up new unit up and plugged it in to the bike. A bit more of a learning curve I was in the right place. Disabled the BAS. checked bike had no codes no warning light. Then went back and Enabled it all good.

Progress on refurbishing the sidecar. Hannigan called yesterday to verify the VIN number on the bike. Part of matching the zephyr blue,Black Sunglo and the accent striping paint. Painter also ask for more pictures on the graphics on the bike. I am sure he is working on how best to make the sidecar look like it belongs on the bike .
I did not bother with question. The painter is a pro, I will let him do his thing. He did a great job the last time.

The reverse is installed. Put my bags back on and it is ready for the ride to Hannigan the 14th. No I did not park it like that the site does strange things with pictures.

Payton picked it. It is Zephyr blue and Sunglow black. It is however really Burpel. Depending on light source it is blue, purple, black or any shade of the 3.

It should be clear to most . I take riding serious. Be it sidecars or two wheels. The sidecars are a special passion because of the world they open up for Payton. The Gold one was not her first. Totaling the Gold 2017 was a sad day. Everyone in this family and many out side it enjoyed that Rig. Sitting here now going over details of the new Rig. questioning any last minute changes , have I made the right call on things. Any details left out. Time is near 3 calls this week form Hannigan I know it it almost time. I had setup time to have the Gold one cleaned up , painted ect before the crash. Hannigan was able to work getting the new Rig done between other work. We have only had a 1 week delay.
The color and mating of the bike and sidecar fit well with the Gold one. I think the New Nighfury dragon will top that. Even when you know what your are getting into it is a journey .
Because the bike is a 2020 the New systems they put on them make mounting a sidecar a bigger project. many things to work around. We shall over come. 8 days out the drive way to Hannigan.
