Best windshield we have found is the LRS flat top for rain and wind buffeting my passenger AKA Bride adult supervision etc. I will not be changing ours any time soon.
I also have an LRS windshield and like it for cold weather.
Are you sure it was the shield blowing water in your face?
I've found that the vent below the windshield needs to be closed for me when it's raining...otherwise it directs water straight to my face.

thanks Kevin, I never thought about the vent

Yep......The first time i forgot to close the vent, The rain came blasting in....I then pulled over clean my glasses, Closed the vent and then the rain just went over the top of my helmet...
Just like saddles and oil and all the other accoutrements we have on our bikes windshields are a matter of personal preference. Over the years I've tried many different varieties but I think I like the one I got for my TG the best of all. It is a 'touring style' Freedom Shield. It is wider than stock and I bought it 2" over stock in height. Yeah I look trough it but that doesn't bother me in the least. It keeps any buffeting off me and more importantly my co-rider. And it is great in the rain. Yeah well nothing is great in the rain but I don't have any problem with it I wouldn't otherwise have. Highly recommended.

Ultrafxr, I know you said you have the 12 inch in the touring width, was wondering about the gap, keep hearing about a gap since the shield is thicker than stock, was going to go with LRS in the wide flat top but they don't have it in clear anymore, not sure why, they used to, just a light tint and up, don't care for tint. Not sure I would like a gap where water could get down in there, just wondering.
All for now Trampas

just ordered an 8” tour after talking with John. I had also heard about a gap, and questioned him about that. He said it only affects later models as HD changed the design. Mine is a 2011 and he said it won’t affect it. I’ll let you know in a few weeks.

How much later? Was looking at buying the touring model myself for my 2016.

Not a problem. Fits and looks fine.
love my LRS flat top re-curve! about drowned earlier this year with a stock windshield and lost no time changing it out. I am now on LRS's radar and just got an e-mail from them today regarding a 4th of uly sale; don't know the details but might be a good time to buy.

I don’t remember. Ultraxfr has a 2018 and seems to be fine. Best bet is to talk with John at Freedom Shields.

Are you saying there is no gap at all on yours since you have a 2018 like me, I like the part of freedom being a little wider down at the bottom, I won't have a passenger at all and sometimes I might but generally run single all the time. Maybe you can snap a pic of it up close so people can view it and post it here, sure would help out since I'm not the only one that talks about a gap

I agree about closing the vent when it starts to pour. I took off the OEM shields on my last two TGs and replaced with LRS. I have a couple for the 2019 I will change back and forth.
Another thing I finally did was buy a half helmet that has a partial shield hidden inside. I never pull it down unless I get stuck riding in a big downpour, but it sure helps then.
ordered a LRS flat top 13" yesterday, they have a small sale going on right now, I too just bought a open face helmet with the inside visor. Next I'am going back to my scuba gear:laugh:
We are in a 2 week stretch in the Black Hills where it is hit and miss on riding in the rain. There are numerous rides we want to do so sometimes it can't be avoided.
There isn't much traffic out here now anyway. On sketchy weather days there is even less, so that is good.
