Cape Coral.
Welp ... I had the Fat Bottom Girl all loaded on the trailer and Saturday I decided to look at the weather one last time. Didn't look good for the 3rd. I wouldn't be actually be trailering during that day, but, it was gonna get pretty cold, so there could be some lingering snow, ice, etc. Checked the weather Sunday morning and it was looking worse for Monday, so, I unloaded the Fat Bottom Girl and unhooked the trailer.
Cabin fever was still getting to me, so, I decided to just take the Jeep and still do my plans for seeing Count Kustoms place and get an estimate on getting the Fat Bottom Girl painted. Well that was a bust, kinda.
Drove to Mesquite, 435 miles. Normally I stop in Green River, Ut (110 miles), Richfield, Ut (120 miles), and Cedar City, Ut (about 130 miles), then onto Mesquite. I mostly make these stops for restroom breaks and fuel fill ups, etc.
I got to Green River, still had coffee, didn't need the potty stop and the Jeep was just under full by the gauge, I kept going. Got to Richfield and had about a 1/2 a 40 oz camel bak of coffee, 3/4 of a tank of fuel, and for some reason, I didn't need to go ... ... I figured I'd stop in Beaver, Ut for breakfast, fuel, etc.
Got to Beaver and still had lots of fuel and a little coffee. Figured, what the heck, keep going for awhile. Stopped in Hurricane, Ut. for fuel, and found the only gas station I could find wanted me to tell them how much fuel I needed. Apparently, their credit card readers were all down. How would I know how much fuel it would take to fill???? So I just left and figured I'd stop in St. George.
Zipped right past the city of St. George and finally made Mesquite. Total driving time with the non fill fuel stop, 6 hours and 15 minutes, averaged just under 70 mph. Amazing how much highway you can chew up at 80 mph. Thirty two miles after I get on I70, I reach Utah, speed limit is 80 mph pretty much all the way through Utah, 75 mph in Colorado. There's a few places where it drops to like 70, but mostly 80 mph. The Virgin River canyon in Arizona is slower, 55 mph in some places, but, it's only like 30 miles.
I got 24.82 mpg at mostly 80 mph. Wheew ... this 3.0L diesel is some kind of kewl. the jeep floats over the little bumps and just feels like you're not going that fast. Listening to a good David Baldacci audio book really made the time fly ... as well as the miles. LOL.
So ... since the FBG was home ... no meandering. Still good to get out of town to let the head clear some.
Yesterday I went to Las Vegas to go see the Counts car museum. His collection is in the industrial area of Vegas, and with the winds they had Sunday night, there were palm frowns down all over the place. I was kind of worried that one might poke a hole in a tire, couple that with the pot holes, construction and really weird layout of the street, I pretty much got lost some. Since I planned to get there early, have breakfast, then go to the museum, I arrived at the Count's about an hour before they open. Now knowing where it was, I thought I'd go get some eats, big mistake. not much in that area, mostly "gentleman's clubs", and industrial stuff. Finally stumbled onto a McDonald's. Had a egg McMuffin and coffee and headed back. I had to us the GPS to find the place again. The roads are set up really weird, guess they need to do that work around the Casinos.
SO back at the Count's, I got there just before they opened. Signed in and wandered around the joint. Some really kewl "toys" in this joint. What was really neat was the fact that I'd seen most of the shows where he'd built these beauties.
So here are some pics, first Ozzy's Chopper

So, what did I do to my Tri today ... I abandoned her ... kind of sad but, I hit a straight flush playing Pai Gow, and won a couple hundred playing black jack, so the trip is pretty much paid for ... :D
Glad you were able to get out of town and clear the cobwebs some. Too bad about leaving the FBG behind...but you gotta do what you gotta do. It's pouring rain here today...so borrowed Mary's truck to get in to work.
Cool pics, and nice wins to pay for the trip!

I'm a couple days behind in posting but last Friday I installed the mount and wiring harness for my Garmin Road Tech Zumo 590 on my new 2020 TG. Yeah I know it has a built in GPS - and 'new and improved' one at that. But I like my Garmin so much better. I may use the factory gps on occassion but on any long or complicated ride it'll be the Garmin for sure.
And I installed the CB radio system which I removed from my 2018.
Then I rode the TG to the dealer for them to install the backlighted hand control switches I had ordered. Need to change the right one at minimum in order to get the PTT button for the CB. And heck the lighted ones weren't much more so I went for it. On my 2018 I installed the right hand switch when I installed the CB radio system but since the new TG is less than 30 days old I'm letting the dealer install the switches so they can register the parts and install with H-D and that way they'll be covered under the factory warranty and any ESP I might get.
It'll be a few days before they can get to it but hopefully I'll have it back later this week.

Hopefully I'll be able to get back tomorrow ... I can only tolerate the gambling thing for about 12 hours, in total. Laying around the hotel room this afternoon ... just relaxing until Curse Of Oak Island comes on, then I'm gonna hit the hay and get on the road early. There was some seriously heavy snow up near Salt Lake City, hopefully, not too bad down where I15 runs into I70, then there's the mountains for the first 60 or so miles.
According to UDOT (Utah Department of Transportation), all of my route should be dry by this afternoon and stay that way for the rest of the week ... we'll see. Might be a slower trip home. More cautious, especially in the mountains. Probably fuel up before and after the mountains ... just to be sure.

I don't know why this happens sometimes ... but .. usually, just rotating them left, saving them, then right and saving, then repost straightens them out ...
Don't forget to retorque after 50 to 100 miles.
Where did you get those ... FBG may get them as a makeup present for leaving her home ... :AGGHH:
