Gunfight Rules
In a gunfight, the most important rule is ..... HAVE A GUN!

Here is some shooting advice from various Concealed Carry Instructors. If you own a gun, you will appreciate these rules. If not, get one and learn how to use it.....then learn the rules:

RULES: (Take special note of M.)

A -- Guns have only two enemies: rust
and politicians.

B -- Its always better to be judged by 12
than carried by 6.

C -- Cops carry guns to protect
themselves, not you.

D -- Never let someone or something that
threatens you get within 20 feet.

E -- Never say "I've got a gun". If you
need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off.

F -- The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes; the response time of a .357 magnum is 1400 feet per second.

G -- The most important rule in a gunfight
is: Always win. A gunfight is a deadly struggle. There is no such thing as a fair fight, so cheat if necessary.

H -- Make your attacker advance through
a wall of bullets. You may get killed with your own gun, but he'll have to beat you to death with it, cause it will be empty.

I -- If you're in a gun fight: If you're not
shooting, you should be loading. If you're not loading, you should be moving. If you're not moving, you're dead.

J -- In a life and death situation, do
something. It may be wrong, but do something!

K -- If you carry a gun, people may call
you paranoid. Bullshit! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

L -- You can say 'stop' or any other word,
but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much a universal language.

M -- Never leave an enemy behind. If you
have to shoot, shoot to kill. If you end up in court, yours will be the only testimony. ALWAYS state you shot to stop the threat because you feared for your life.

N -- You cannot save the planet, but you
may be able to save yourself and your family.

If you believe in the 2nd Amendment, forward this to others you know who also believe.

And always remember this quote from America 's premier Founding Father:

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history, when everybody stands around reloading".
- Thomas Jefferson

Gun Fight Rules

That stuff is a lot more like macho bragging. Here's a set that makes a lot more sense.

I don't carry a gun to kill people; I carry a gun to keepfrom being killed.
I don't carry a gun because I'm evil; I carry a gun becauseI have lived long enough to see the evil in the World.
I don't carry a gun because I hate the government; I carry agun because I understand the limitations of government.
I don't carry a gun because I'm angry; I carry a gun so thatI don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.
I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone; I carrya gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed and not on a sidewalksomewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man; I carry agun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate; I carry a gunbecause unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don't carry a gun because I love it; I carry a gun becauseI love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
Police protection is an oxymoron: Free citizens must protectthemselves because police do not protect us from crime; they just investigatethe crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old totake a whoop-in'!
A LITTLE GUN HISTORY PLEASE DON'T THINK FOR A MOMENT, THATTHIS COULDN'T HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY ALSO!!!!!!

Wise Words....

My first CHL instructor asked an open question during his introductory statement. Then gave the class a minute to ponder that question. He asked "In a threatening circumstance, are you willing to take another person's life and if not why are you here?" After the first break period three of twelve students did not return. Probably a good thing....... :xszpv: :xszpv:

When I was shopping for my first "carry" pistol the owner of one local sporting good store asked if I knew the first rule of a gun fight. I answered no and he responded "Get Your Hands On A Weapon!" With very few exceptions I have never been very far from such devices since. :D Seriously, a CHL does no good if the weapon in home in the gun safe...

I agree, the weapon is no good in a safe at your house if you are not in the safe with the weapon.

As a kid in Vietnam, I had 2 occasions that my weapon was not with me, restricted area and weapons not allowed. Dang what a feeling. I do not want that feeling again, and I carry in almost all places. Jim

If there is no metal detector those silly signs are worth as much as criminals respond to them. But how many follow along like good little boys and girls? Gun free zones are exactly what the bad guys are looking for. No one to bother them there. Every single business should WANT concealed carriers on their property. But few do. My bank is one of the very few that welcomes them. I moved my account for that very reason. As did several others I know of. Some day they'll be glad they do that.
