Has anyone here put hd mini apes on a 17 tri with faring mirrors already installed, reason I ask is my local hd dealer said with the mini apes and faring mirrors it may not work seeing from behind you any input?:D

I'm not a expert on trikes, but I have never seen a trike that had mirrors on the faring, had regular mirrors on the handlebar controls just like the 2 wheelers. I put 12.5 wild one bars on my 18, had the same bars on my 16 with the regular mirrors that attach to the handlebar controls. I could see where the fairing mirrors would be in the way, I'm sure you can put different mirrors on the handlebar controls, they must be plugged.

All for now Trampas

I was not aware that HD made mini apes that would fit on the Tri Glide.

I don't care for the fairing mirrors myself....but if you like them on a 2 wheeler, I can't imagine why they would not work on the trike. The Tour Pak is the same width on the trike as the 2 wheelers, and the fenders on the trike are below the level that you would be looking at in the mirrors any way.

I did see a two wheeler that the rider had to plug the faring holes and use bar mounted mirrors because of interference with his choice of handle bars... just sayin. Good luck with your choice I chose Khrome Werks 2+2 Wide sweepers for our ride wider they are like adding power steering Travel safe Fred

I put 12” Apes on my trike- had to remove the stock mirrors FROM fairing, put plugs in FAIRING holes and put mirrors on the STOCK perches (clutch & brake levers).

Trike was/is STOCK HD STREET GLIDE (FLHXXX).

For info: the Street Glides (2010-2011) made by HD did NOT come with TOUR PAKs (thus wider spread for mirrors were NOT required).

I ordered the mini apes last night, along with the heated grips will try the fairing mirrors and report back. I have the stock mirrors and will plug the holes in the fairing to, if needed Thanks for the replies and ideas!:D

Forgot to say in my previous reply, that the parts guy said that if I went to a 14 or taller I should be ok, Just was thinking out loud.:D

Went to the dealer yesterday and they removed the faring mirrors as you couldn't see behind you the parts guy told me weeks ago that if I went higher I would be ok, but to high wouldn't be feesable for me, so I went with the mini's that I had on my two wheeler and was comfy somewhat above the stockers. So it looks as though I will install the factory one's on the bars to see. Thought I would add the Update if anyone is thinking to do this ,ride on and be safe:D. I could see fine with the stock bars but not the mini's I put the faring ones on to clean up the trike:).

I have fairing mirrors on my 2015 TG. I'm getting ready to put on 10' apes, so I'll find out if they'll work or not. I also have handlebar mirrors. I use the handlebar mirrors with extensions so I can see my daughter when she rides behind me, and use the fairing mirrors to see traffic.

Never really gave much though if the fairing mirrors would be blocked or not. The apes I got are only 34" wide as opposed the normal 38", so that might be a help for me.
