Triking a Ridley Auto-Glide

I have a 2003 Ridley Auto-Glide 750 Classic automatic motorcycle sitting around doing nothing. I thought about triking it . . I want to do this as a project
with my hubby this fall and sell it. Any ideas what kit we could use. I am thinking the Frankenstein. I don't think I could add much weight to it and still get any performance. Any ideas? I don't want to add a kit like a voyager.

Those Ridleys are cool, Joan! What color is yours? I'll bet the Frankenstein would look awesome with it.

Unless you are the governer of California, every trike needs raked, IMHO:yes:

That is a nice bike, how fast will it go, heard they were slow, is that true?

Redneckray, no they are not slow. I kept up with george's Harley, no problem. You can ride the interstate and go anywhere with them. Very nice cruising machine....even the seat was very comfy.

I know Motor Trike had a deal with Ridley to make their trike conversions. Its going to be more expensive than the Frankenstein kit but would have a full fiberglass body and trunk. FYI

Personally I would prefer the Motor Trike over the Frankenstein if it were mine. That's just my opinion though.

Not necessarily, especially if your donor is low miles & in good condition. The last time I looked Ridley wanted between $26-28k for their 750 Auto-Glide (right up there in Tri-Glide territory). That should help set the "compariable" bar for your ride.

And only because you asked ... the Auto-Glide swingarm is a classic double shock style, although we've not done one yet, our Trinity system will work on the Ridley's. (In fact, I have a request for quote from PA that came in yesterday.) Most Trinity conversions only add a little over 120 pounds to the net weight prior to triking and so far, no Trinity I know of had to have front end mods (including the HD big twins).

Unlike some others, we don't have to have to come up with a new, replacement swingarm to support our drive axle, we make a few mods to the OEM swingarm to receive our rear assembly instead. If you stay with the roadster style (bags & fenders) instead of a full body, the resulting fully automatic "classic style" cruiser could be attractively priced.

Even apart from us, there are several other Ridley changeovers out there, so keep looking and weigh your options (and be sure to weigh the assemblies too! :yes: )

The Trinity Trike

I had a 2009 Ridley Auto Glide trike from the factory. It was a beautiful machine and liked it a lot. Only one problem. It was hard to pass on Interstate as 70-72 mph was tops. With a significant wind against me i could not get that mph. My advice: keep the weight as low as possible to retain decent mph.
