Yep. I've had custom reworked seats, Corbin, Mustang, Ultimate and Russell. All were great for the bike they were on. Not one company has been good all across every bike I've had. Russel has come the closest though but on some bikes it just looks odd. Well, it looks odd anyway but on some it looks better.

If you guys really want to waste all your money on different seat make'r go ahead............I said it B4 and I'll say it again, just go to walmart or any place that sells seat cushions, and purchase just a pad, lay it upon your seat, and ride away happy, and keep that $5-1000.00 dollars in your pocket....

We bought Harleys! I think the "saving money" ship left port.

I did not like the shape of my Freewheeler seat. The Sundowner Tallboy seat fixed that very economically, for me.

    Default Mustang

I have ridden Mustang seats for 25yrs from FXR's to Triglide!

I have the Mustang with 2" extra set back! It comes in stock length and 2" forward also!

It's big and wide with rider back rest and was on my totaled Freewheeler and fits my 2016 Triglide just fine!

I personally would never buy a "Harley Davidson" seat for comfort! JMO

You know you have a good seat when you don't think about your seat! 750mi a day no Butt problem!

Try a SS1000 1000 miles in 24 hours. The H-D air seat came out with flying colors. It didn't hurt to have a beaded pad also.

I did a quick search and could not find an HD air pad. Do you have a link to it? Just curious.

    TIA,

I had planned on a possible seat change next spring. However, the recent 1/2" lift for rear tank which raised the front seat position, along with the Hernia Surgery last April, is now causing me some discomfort, especially on my right hang-me-down area. To keep that lift height I probably need a seat that moves me back 1-2". My dilemma has been, try a pad which will likely just increase the frontal lift, or bite the bullet now for a new expensive $400+ Mustang Super Touring Vintage Seat 79538 that sits the rider 1.75" back. I did move tank forward, then removed the 1/2" spacer and installed a 3/8" which gives some relief, just not enough. Going to try a 1/4" spacer as another inexpensive means to increase comfort level and maintain some rear tank lift. Hopefully, this attempt gives me the needed comfort until next springs seat change and 1/2" spacer reinstall .

For the sake of comfort, why not just run the front tank lift and remove the rear? The vast majority of the cooling benefit and reduced buffeting comes from the front tank lift. The rear is only to show more chrome and make it easier to clean.

Just my dogged determination to still maintain some rear lift as I truly like that look now. So removing the rear lift is the least desired option, and I'm not giving up easily. Since the surgery, I've known that a seat change was inevitable, because I need that additional move to the rear, even before the rear lift install.

I went with the HD Sundowner Tallboy that moves you back 2" & love it. I'm not that tall (5'9") but my FW stock seat constantly pitched my forward. The Sundowner is a totally different shape for both rider & passenger. It's very comfortable. I have not had it on the road for 8 hours a day, but I have a 2" memory foam pad to take on extended trips. I have the DK Custom Products 1.5" tank lift (front & rear) & its not an issue with my seat.

Thanks!.... I'm just a smidge over 5' 11", so a 2" setback should work well for me too. Will add this to my short list. Will also check with my local dealer to see if they have one available demo rides.

A lot of dealers are set up with a mock up so you can try seats and handle bars

My local dealer will let you test ride their seats on your trike Ask yours
Thanks!......Will definitely need to check further with dealer. Harley's web site shows Tallboy 52000134 fits 08-later touring models, including Freewheeler. Doesn't include 14 and later Tri Glides....hopefully, that's an oversight on their part.

I have a Roadking seat on my Freewheeler

From the 2009 Touring frame design change and up IMO should fit

IMO, the catalog is wrong maybe set up that way

I say any touring seat will fit Triglides and Freewheelers
