Well so far,

I can't say enough on how well the 2017 Tri Glide rides. The M8 has so much smooth and usable torque at hand compaired to my 103 and it ran pretty good. The gear ratio on the 2017 is spot on and is matched well to the trike. The drive train and tranny is the smoothest to date on any Harley that I have owned. No backlash and the tranny clunk is pretty much non existent. The shifting is so smooth I am very pleased with that.

The wife says this is the most comfy Harley that she had been on to date and loves it.

One big thing that emproved things big time on the trike was floorboard extensions as well as a rear extended shifter arm. All this after being properly adjusted made shifting and floorboard room a breeze for me. Also the drivers backrest a big plus as well.

The 2017 in stock configuration runs just fine for me and our style of riding ( safe and sane..Lol). For the guys that plan on doing more to the M8 you should have power to spare.

Ride Safe All,
Bill G

Good to hear all of this on the new M8, enjoy. Long ride just for food, but I understand, it is the riding part not the food, maybe :D:D. I have to say you 2 look younger than I thought, since most on here are old geezers I guess, bike sure looks good and I have to say your other half looks good also, hope you don't mind, very lucky guy.

Aren't you guys to young to be on a Trike :p Awesome pics really easy on the eyes, Oh and the bike looks OK.

Yes, we are one of the younger couples riding a trike. I was 49 just shy of 50 when we bought our first trike in 2015. This 2017 is our second one (a knee issue got me on the first one). With that said, I had thought about getting one in 2009 when they first came out long before my knee issue. Back then I could not get the wife's buy in, she said we are to young for one of those. Well knowing what we know today we have both said we should have got a trike sooner. (We both love trikes now). I really think they are for any age in the big picture but there is a misconception about the trikes in general. That misconception being you have to be older or have a handicap of sorts to want to ride one.

I know they are much more popular today than ever before. I think the Freewheeler is helping younger folks and ladies get even more interest in them as it has a lighter hot rod Road King kinda thing going on.

Thanks for your kind words.

Bill G

Trampas,

Thank you sir for the kind words my wife smiled and blushed a little and yes I am very lucky. As I have said many times you don't have to be older to love trikes. We really like the 2017 as stated and hope the new M8 engine earns its place in the long line of engines Harley has produced. The M8 is an impressive performer compaired to our 103 in our last trike.

Brother your never ever an old geezer your just as young as you act and feel. :D

I agree on age, as long as you are in the wind does not make much difference what you are riding.

As for age, I feel young most days, now some days I feel like I'm 30 but my body isn't letting me do what I did then and I live with that, just wished in my younger days I hadn't did what I did, my body would be better today, maybe not so sure on that:laugh::laugh:

I'm glad I got a smile out of your wife, not to sure about the blush though, no reason to blush:)

Yes sir I hear ya about the things we have done when we were younger. :gah: You keep on trucking for as long as you can brother. My wife is very shy and a sweetheart. I still don't know what she saw in me.. Lol. She is 9 years younger than me but it works we have been together 20 years now. We ride laugh and love together I am very blessed.

Hope you didn't miss the sarcasm in my comment, We are the same age, aren't you to young, Is the number one question I am asked. Trikers are getting younger and most don't have medical Issues, Trikes have become very popular In my area and most of the riders are In their 50's like Us. And yes you are lucky Indeed.

Yes I got it but I did not realize you guys were in the same age bracket. :wave4: We are starting to see the same thing younger riders on trikes ThumbUp. Also we are ask the same question quite often aren't you guys to young for a trike. The wife gets teased at work a lot about it. All of her co workers the ones that do Ride still ride two wheelers. I get joked with at work because all the guys are now younger millennials and ride Triumph or Victory bikes. The other Harley rider just retired so I get it two fold one because we are on a trike the second because it's a Harley... Lol.

I just laugh and say when you grow up you will promote :p
