Save me from all the searching; what seat do you have on your Freewheeler?

Patience seems to always pay off.

I came across on Facebook marketplace a like new Mustang “Super Touring Deluxe” seat P/N 79006 with the backrest for $475.

As far as I can tell it’s the same seat as P/N 79598 listed for the Freewheeler however the Freewheeler version I believe may have a more squarer pillion.

As seen in the pictures below there is a slight gap at the base of the pillion at the rear of the side covers.

However once my Alaska sheepskin is installed you can’t see the gap but it’s such a good looking seat I hate to cover it up.

I only put about 50 miles on the seat today but it does seem to be a lot better than stock.

Thanks everyone for your inputs as to what seat you are riding on.

On a unrelated note sort of maybe somebody can chime in and tell me why my pictures always seem to be turned sideways.

Sideways pictures

I have found that I can edit and resize photos on my IPhone and they will post correctly. I use “square” setting and it has worked for me. Google “resize image on IPhone” and it takes you there step by step. Hope it works for you.

Stock Seat

Might sound strange to some, but I really like my factory seat, but then I don't ride with a passenger.

Of Course you should all put whatever seat you like best on your ride. For me, I think the stock seat absolutely looks the best and really makes the Trike look trick, low slung and cruiseresk. I get it that when you put a touring seat on it affords you additional comfort. My last ride was an Ultra Classic with every piece of touring crap on it that Harley offered. This time I wanted a "Chopper" or I would have gotten the Tri Glide filled with touring stuff. Putting a touring seat on changes the whole look of the Trike. I do have an appointment at the end of January with my local custom upholstery shop to have my stock seat & passenger backrest re done in alligator and black leather and will remove the driver backrest insert as well. Hope you find exactly what you're looking for.

Just a snap shot of the kinda layout I'm gonna have done. Got it from the custom seat guys with a sample of the insert fabric. Pretty stoked.

I went with Corbin. They basically make a custom seat for you. You get to choose from so many options. We have a 2021 Freewheeler in Snake Venom paint. Corbin made a seat and passenger backrest that used green stitching to match the bike. The seat is comfortable for all day riding. Pricey but worth it.

Blue raven, I hope that Mustang works for you. I used a super tour on my 07 and both my wife and I loved it. On the Tri Glide we tried the Hammock , No Bueno.. then ran across a lightly used Ultimate Tallboy with backrest and it’s been solid. Unfortunately it’s not a 1 ass fits all…

Mustang Seat

The first thing I changed was the stock seat, which I did not like. I purchased the HD Sundowner, and it was not bad. However, I thought it was ugly. As soon as Mustang started manufacturing their seats after the virus fiasco, I purchased their seat. It looks better and performs well. The only thing I don't care for is their backrest. The HD backrest is bigger and more comfortable. In my opinion, Mustang needs to improve this part of their seat. I have learned to live with it. The rest of the seat is fantastic.

Love the profile of the stock seat so re-upholstery seemed like the way to go for me. Don't think the finished seat has made it to this "Seat" thread ... I apologize if it has but I'm so happy with how well it came out that I'm sharing a couple of snap shots. Thanks for indulging if it is here somewhere. Gotta give creds to Custom Care Inc Upholstery here in Myrtle Beach SC for doing such a great job. Really adds a touch of unique to the bike ... imho

One bad ass seat, one of a kind for sure;)

Mustang seat for me...

I tried the Sundowner and it was nice... just looks plain and ugly for me. I now have the Mustang with their backrest. I like the HD backrest better, but I have learned to accept it. The passenger seat is pretty wide. And, you can use the stock HD backrest. Fits great. Best of luck :)
