Default Letting someone try the sidecar

A person I met some time back that rides a Street 750 was real interested in the sidecar mounted on a Street. Over time I got to know him well. Saturday it was time for him to try it out.

I was convinced he had good riding skills and commonsense. Offered him a chance to try it out . After a couple trips up and down the country road I live on it was clear he was a fast learner.

Got on my RGU and off we rode. About half a day on different kinds of roads. He adapted fast to it.

He now has a lot more insight to a sidecar. I think he started his planning process to acquire one. It is great to see someone experience a new way to enjoy riding. Now he does not have to relay on what they say about sidecars. He has some firsthand experience.

The Harley 750 Street now has 2000 miles on it with the Sidecar. All is well and doing great.

Your a "braver man" man then I....................The last person I allow'd to ride my bike, totally crashed it........The funny part of this all, is that was the last time I ever saw this person again, It's amazing how, someone can be your friend, TILL something like this happens! Guess who had to "pony up the money" to purchase a new one????

I was fully certain this was gonna end up with a totaled bike and side car .... or ... a stolen bike and side car. Glad to see it ended in a good place.

Bikes I always Trade . I am just not dealing the guy that wants it for nothing. Cars I use to put a lot of miles on , buy the time I was done with them they still ran good I gave them to someone that needed a car.

The person I allowed to ride the sidecar was trust worthy. It is well insured I was more concerned about his safety. He demonstrated good riding skills and took it serious . Sometimes you just have to put a little joy and excitement in someone else life .

25 days the Twin Classic should be finished and ready to ship here. Payton is marking off the days.

Gota treat friends just like a stranger when it comes to a sale of any kind. And if THEY don’t understand how it works, then there not a friend !

Car can be replaced. I would surely miss My Mother in law. At 87 she still gets around and is very active. We love her dearly.

She has been driving Cars and trucks on the farm of 67 years, never a ticket or accident.

Update, the person I let try my 750 Street with sidecar. Not only purchased one, but he purchased a second 750 Street to mount it on. Last week both the bike and the sidecar showed up here and are sitting in the bike room. He wants to mount it the same way mine is. I decided to help him with it . I have the time, place, tools and a working version so why not.

Kind of the way riding use to be we got together and fixed or made mods to each others rides.

His Rig will be on the road today. One more mount to make and install, wiring and slight mod to brake pedal for clearance.

Mounted it all up today and he rode it. Owner is a bigger ride so we we beefed it up a bit. Mounted it a little different than the Street 750 sidecar I have. ran it up and cruised at 85 with it.

nothing against you by any means... but that rear velorex mount is the worst thing i have ever seen... there are many out there there that people will swear by and have never had an issue,,, but it is a piss poor design ...... i have modified more of these than i care to think about... if the clamp gets tacked to the frame more than likely it will stay... but by nature they just want to twist..

    did i mention they suck.

    attached

stock mount .... to many pivot points in too many directions possible

stock mount on a guzzie 850

    and 2 of the modifications

I agree with you. Once mounted and it works , improve that is the next step.

Marks rig is done. He rode it most of the day on Saturday and is learning fast. The Rig works as it should , handles great.
