This is our 2000 BMW K1200LT with Hannigan conversion. Bought the bike new in 2000 and was going to sell it when I bought my K1600GTL a year ago. But the wife said she wanted to learn to ride but wanted a trike. It was cheaper and easier for us to convert the LT. Rides great. I like it a lot more than I thought I would. She still hasn't learned to ride it but maybe this Spring.

Here is my BMW R1200c Grinnall trike.
It has a few adaptations for my disability. Klictronic push button gearchange, both brakes on the right hand lever, electric reverse. Wheelchair rack and a crutch rack for when i'm not using the wheelchair.
Currently he (Boris the Beemer) is in hibernation owing to our horrible winters but I'm looking forward to the spring.

Two super nice BMW trikes! The Hannigan is a beauty and the Grinnall is too. Where is the Grinnall built?

Hi Bazooka
The Grinnall is built in the UK as either a turnkey conversion or an owner fitted kit. They also trike the Triumph Rocket 3.
Trikes, Specialist Sports Cars and Kit Car Manufacturer
I believe they will sell kits to overseas customers.
All the best for 2013 and ride free on three!

Got some pics up on my profile of my beautiful 2000 K1200LT colorado red conversion. Can no longer ride and still have it on consignment here in San Angelo, Tx. Less than 9000 miles on it. The Hannigan has about 1000 miles on it.

A couple of photo's of my Grinnall conversion BMW R1150 Rockster.
The original bike begged to be ridden like a hoon! The conversion hasn't changed this! I bought this for my wife, and intended to ride it around occassionally while waiting for her to get a bike license. She has never followed through with her intent, so I will probably be selling due to having four other BMW's (R80GS, R1150RS, R1200ST, R1200RT)
NB I can't get more than one image to upload, so will add a second post.
Other picture of Grinnall.
Nice grinnall Sparra.
Hope the fires aren't too close to you.
Tom
Thanks Tom. Fortunately, at this time, the fires on the mainland are many hundreds of k's south of Queensland. There was a couple of fires on an island just off the coast here that burned out a resort, but I beleive was contained before it could get to any of the villages.
With your Grinnall, have you had issues with the 'outrigger' mudguard brackets breaking up? Are you running 205/45 17 tyres?
I haven't had any problems with he outrigger brackets but I have only owned it about 6 months and its only done 7k miles since new in 2002! Funnily enough I was looking at them only tonight and wondering if he might be susceptible to vibration cracking. I was checking my rack for cracks as I thought it felt a bit loose.
I have no idea what tyres I have on the rear I will have a look and let you know.

It's battery time again, for my KLT trike. I am seeing the same old choices, including a second mortgage option in order to buy the BMW battery. Anybody have a suggestion for a top of the line, quality battery for less than $100.00?
Hi Tinbasher and Sparra, I had a new 2002 R1200C Grinnall Trike and I had issues with the mudguard brackets. I lost one mudguard as I was riding. Mark Grinnall replaced both mudguards and reinforced the brackets by adding another strut, but I cannot remember if they originally has two or three struts. Never had a problem after that and I must have done 20,000 miles plus after the change. I think Mark's improvement was added to all his trikes after that which would be September 2002ish.
Thanks John
Never noticed how many struts I have!
Some of our roads are in a shocking state at the moment it must put a lot of strain on them.
