I suddenly am getting oil out of the breather.
Oil level is about 1/2 qt low.
Last oil change was almost 1800 miles ago.
Never had an issue before.
Does anyone have any ideas???

When I get blow bye on my Road King it is because I do not down shift to a lower gear when I want to put the power to it, usually on hills. Mine was always a mess on trips until someone gave me that tip. I am really not sure of other reasons for it.
what bike? mileage, when do you notice this? all the time, once? this might help others
in giveing advice.
have you tryed v-twin h-d forume? theyve got a good tech section.
ck out oil from breather" on h-d talking forume.
2011 tri glide 4500 miles.
New problem
I thing your lugging the engine put some rpms to it
I try to keep minimum rpm 2500 or higher.
What would be your minimum?
I have an "11 with 6500 miles. Mine did the same thing a coupla weeks ago. Tech told me the oil was too full and took it down a couple of lines. And..I try to never run below 2700 to 2800 rpms...try to keep it right around 3000...I have a Ness Big Sucker with a K&N filter.. tech said it is typical for them to blow some oil if rpms too low..especially on hills, and oil is too full. Says it wont hurt anything, just makes a mess. He took everything off, cleaned it all up and put it back together. I will keep a close eye on it though.

What have done to stop oil from leaking from air cleaner? - Harley Davidson Forums
Roardrumble, There are a couple possibilities here. One is, could you have too much oil in it? Could the oil breather be out of time if it has done this from the start? The other question is, how often do you ride the bike? If it's ridden infrequently, given enough time, the ball bearing that keeps the oil from leaking backward out of the engine that's higher than the oil pump could be not seating correctly which will allow oil to fill the crankcase, then spitting it out thru the breather when the engine starts.

My trike blows a little oil once in a while especially when I run it hard or if it's over filled. The old Hondas used to run a rubber tube from the crankcase vent to the drive chain to keep it lubed.
anyone made a downspout for the brather tubles to fit into and jettison the extra oil onto the hwy?
I run a Doherty with power pacc on my 06 Ultra, I vent this to the ground. On a trike you may need to run a catch can because all the turbulence may coat things with the mist you don't want coated. I've often thought about modifying the SE Ventilator I'm running to vent it to the ground, may some day get around to it once I catch up on some of my other projects.

Red Ultra Powered By Head-Quarters 120, Easy Clutch Pull By ClutchWIZ. 2012 GL1800 Hannigan. I've yet to ride a stock Harley which wasn't in need of a mechanical intervention.
I lost a 1/2qt out my air cleaner. The HD shope told me to run a 1/2qt low. They said the dip sticks aren't marked right. No problems since.
