An important reminder for everyone.... Please look through the forum "index" to find the appropriate topic for your post/thread. For instance, this one would ideally be in the "Accessories" section under TECH TALK rather than here in the "New Members" forum.
Thank y'all so much! (BTW... it has now been moved into the Accessories section.)
I like this board but I got to say sometimes, it takes you to places that you don't intend to go.

I agree that this was not appropriate to post in the new member area.
ACTUALLY when I posted the message, I thought I was posting this on the
GENERAL area, at least that is where my screen SAID I was.

I don't know about others, but I have seen it do this a number of (undocumented) times, where I have been on one page then hit the back button, or go up the message list tree, and ended up totally in a different spot than what would be expected.

This message being posted in the wrong place, just confirms what I had been witnessing, but was unsure of how it was happening.
I will attempt to document when this is happening, and forward this information to you when it does.
Be careful guys. These technology companies jealously protect the use licenses of their programs.
Nothing's been said or suggested that's illegal yet, but remember that the internet is not anonymous.
A word to the wise.........

?????
what are you guys talking about???
A Route file is a USER created file, the when loaded into your Garmin will give route directions.
If I create a route then I can give that file to anyone who has mapsource to enter it in their system.
It has NOTHING to do with locked, locking, or unloced maps.
I misunderstood . I thought you needed the area map of RT 66 . I also have the whole USA disk for my streetpilot with my own unlock codes.
Checkn with POI-FACTORY. COM i think the route is on there for free. As a POI File.
