    Default my t/g battery charging fix

    this wire goes into the left hand side cover from the + side of the battery.
    a easy to charge the battery after sitting all winter on the h-d charger
    which left the battery at 9.8volts. no need to remove battery cover.
    i'm looking into installing the remote starter. maybe in same ares.
    where have others postioned the reomot starter? thanks .
    roll on and throttle-up.

    9.8 Volts is a dead battery, Something's wrong with that charger. [or that red wire]
    Forgive me if I'm wrong but that red wire thing looks home made.

    You know, those pigtails that permanently attach to the battery for quick detach from the charger, can be purchased at the dealer for about 7-8 bucks. One came with my T-G and the charger has been plugged in all winter.
    2010 RHS Tri-Glide Ultra, Fuelmoto stainless headpipe, Supertrapp SE slip-ons, SE255 cams w/S&S lifters and TTS2 tuned by Docs Performance, Lenale parade fan, UltraCool Reefer oil cooler, ClutchWiz, Barnett+1 clutch pack. Hayden chain tensioner, crotch-cooler shields, Wild1 WO575 chubbies, Road Zeppelin air seat, 30t. primary belt pulley, Lyndall rear ceramic/aluminum rotors w/L. pads rear and front, Garmin Road Tech 660 w/radio interface, 1.25" lift brackets

    My TG had that pigtail already installed by the dealer. I didn't have to go out and buy one. We use the Battery Tender Jr. on both bikes and have never had a problem with the battery. I am confused, easy for me at times, but why would someone put a remote starter on a trike?

    i had a new h-d battery tender hooked up to the battery all winter long. thru the pig tail on r/h side of bike just fwd of side cover.took trike for a ride the other day and the starter cranker over more than usual before it started.

    the battery was down to 9.8V. a test showed the battery was good but needed a hot charge to get the voltage up to where the trickle charger takes over. so thats why i put in a pigtail so i can charge the battery w/o takeing the seat and ecm caddy out.

    '09 t/g and it does have a trickle charger pig tail installed.

    Both my 09 and 11 came with the charger pigtails. Don't use them, we ride year round.

    The easiest way I've found to charge my battery is to attach the red clamp to the large nut on the right end of the starter. (That's a direct connection to the battery.) Then connect the black clamp to any good ground.
