Will the rotors off a 2005 Road King fit on a solid wheel from a 1996 Fat Boy?

#2---Opinion:

What are the cons to taking an HD solid front wheel and drilling 4 evenly spaced holes in it? (the holes would be 1"--2" in diameter and spaced at 12--3--6 & 9)

Thank you.

The front rotors work. The holes the front brake rotors are mounted to on the wheel will be the same. The rear rotor on a Softail is not the same as a Touring bike rear rotor. Swapping a rear Softail wheel and rotor can be done but will require machined spacers to keep the Softail rotor flat and true to the caliper for proper spacing between the caliper for braking . I did it on my 1990 Ultra many years ago and it was a pain. I found after a 150k miles my rear stock aluminum spoke wheel was warped from the miles. I got the bright idea of using a solid wheel and went through the pain of seeing if it could be done after I was told it wasnt possible

As far as drilling holes in the solid HD wheels I have seen several bikes with Bar & Shield holes machined in them with no adverse effects on the the integrity and balance of the wheel
