My dealer complains that MotorTrike has not paid him for warranty work done previously and he refuses to do any more unless he is paid in CASH and then wants me to get re-imbursed from MotorTrike.

Has anyone else had this problem with their MotorTrike dealer?????

I think All companies pay warranty slow. Just as long as they get the parts out to the dealer they think it's ok... But, when the dealer doesn't get paid in a timely manner after busting their butt to fix your trike at less than shop rates... and doesn't get paid on time... that sucks... for the dealer and now you!

I don't think it's just a MotorTrike problem... As a matter of fact I know it's not.. but I won't name names or point fingers.

I'm betting there is more to that story then you are being told.... If your dealer is asking for warranty work payment from you at all then it's time to contact Motor Trike directly. There is a bigger issue then you need to be dealing with...

earlyriser4444,

Thank you for calling in and speaking with Richard Purdy about this issue. We always appreciate the opportunity to help our customers.

We're glad we could get it resolved!

Thank you,

I have to say that Motor Trike has been nothing short of outstanding to work with since joining our board as a sponsor. In fact, they have hired a person among who's duties include monitoring this board daily and responding to all questions. That person is Casey so please give her a warm welcome to our TrikeTalk.com family. She communicates with Richard, J.D., Jeff & Dianne and will address ANY issue you may have. I know this from talking to Motor Trike owners Jeff, J.D. & Dianne Vey recently at the Indy Dealer expo. I believe the commitment is there 100%.

I'm very proud to have them as an active member/sponsor and as you can see from their responses on this board, they're no doubt committed to resolving any issues you may have. If you have a question, feel free to post it or even PM them and you are guaranteed a direct and quick response.

Thanks,
Zook

i'm very happy that motortrike is stepping up to the plate. even though i had numerous problems with my installer and called motortrike on several occasions to try to get it straightened out..my opinion was they did'nt want to hear it because my dealer was considered one of their best dealers. it took several calls just to get past the secretary. i love my motortrike now that i have it straightened out to the point it's rideable. i work on construction equipment and deal with customer service everyday. and if i treated a customer the way i was treated by motortrike i would'nt be in business very long.. but this was 6 years ago. i have no hard feelings about motortrike and i would buy another one. only different thing i would do next time is when i got my trike back from the dealer i'd rip it all apart and install it properly instead of beating my head against a block wall.
i'm not going to mention the dealer..it would be fruitless, but unless he's come a long way he'd never install another one for me.

Welcome Casey, it's great to know that now maybe when a customer calls they won't be swept under a rug.

Re: Motor Trike

Companies evolve and situations change. That's one of the things that keep it interesting...

I started looking seriously at trikes a year ago and made several phone calls to various manufactures. Motor Trike treated me well. They got me right to the people with the answers. I converted last June and have needed to call a couple time since. Each time I got exactly the result I'd hoped for. Can't say enough good things and expect that positive experience to continue.

I must say that my experience to date with Motor Trike has been outstanding on several levels. I called them regarding maintenance on the trike section of the bike and Brandy Russell went overboard to make sure I got the information. Richard recently installed a rake kit on my GL 1800 and did a great job in much less than the estimated time frame. (Of course, it helps that he has done about 10,000 of them.)

hi, here in montreal(quebec) my dealer told me that when he order kits or parts from motor trike he had to paid first,,,he expalin to me that motor trike as to receive the money before they ship the parts,,,
is it right or just an excuse,,,, because he order, more then a month ago some aquashield for my gl1800 and somes others parts etc,,,and he said motor trike didnt ship the aquashield because money probleme,,,,but ship the rest of the parts,,, now i am waiting for the shield,,,,,
i wonder if it is right or just an excuse because he forgot to order:Shrug:

That is something real difficult to say for sure. Unless I had personal experience it would be out of line to guess. Even if you called Motor Trike direct on this question I don't know if you would get the answer you are looking for. The relationship between a company and the dealers is usually kept pretty private.

I guess I would not hurt to ask them but don't be surprised if they told you to contact your dealer again... :Trike1: ;)

From my limited personal experience. I would suggest that if you do not recieive the satisfactory (to you) or appropreate respone regarding you concern than I highly recomemend that you contact Richard at Motor Trike and ask away and resolve your issues directly with the factory. Yea they do that and there are no qualms about it. It is all about service. To me that is the way "It should be".
Take care:):):)
Anthony

You will never find better or more helpful people than there are at Motortrike. Not only will they help you over the phone, they will even sell you their parts and ship them to you. Once received, they will again help you with advice on how to install. There are may reasons a dealer may not receive payment as quickly as they would wish. Some are simple mis-understandings, others may be a problem with how the issue is billed by the dealer. Maybe neither, but I will put my money on Motortrike every time.
