dipstick level

When checking the oil level in my 08 GoldWing, should the dipstick be first screwed all the way in and the level checked at that point?

According to the Goldwing Owners Manual you wipe off the dipstick and then set it centered on top of the opening, don't screw it in.

after a couple of hundred thousan miles on it ,you will not check the oil anymore,
mine i only check before changing oil,,,,, for the fun of it,,,,

it is a goldwing!!!!!
