Broken ladder

Recently the ladder on my friend's stallion broke as she was driving on a four lane. She heard the break, then said it was like someone jerking the steering wheel from her, pulling hard to the left. She calmly fought the pull and got off the road. She called the only dealer left in Oklahoma and he immediately knew what had happened. Triple A came and picked up the bike and took it to be fixed. It seems that this was a common problem with 09 trikes.
My bike was scheduled to have a 'check up' since I had bought my bike used and needed to make sure everything was OK. The ladder will be replaced as a precaution and hopefully nothing else will go wrong in the future. I enjoy my stallion greatly as it gives me the opportunity to continue riding without affecting my fibromyalgia too much.

I'm so glad your friend was able to stay calm and handle that VERY stressful situation! Sounds as though you have found the perfect trike for yourself, and there is nothing better than that. Enjoy every minute out there, and stay safe.

WHERE and WHAT should someone look for to see if thier LADDER needs to be replaced.
Not everyone that owns a Stallion knows exactly what we sould be looking for.

the original ones have swivel joints at all 3 points and the new one has a fixed front joint and it rides better with the new ladder bars installed!!

I have no idea miles her trike had when the "ladder" broke. I guess I should call it rear stabilizer bar, but I'm not sure that is correct or not. My husband kept calling it a ladder! My bike has around 22,000, so it's barely broken in, for now!

I think the ladder my husband keeps referring to is the rear stabilizer bar. He explained it to me in that it keeps the rear end straight and depending on if one or the other side should break, that is the side the bike would pull toward. I hope that helps explain what it is. Hubby was going to show me where it was, but he never got around to it after we got home from picking my bike up from the dealer who did replace mine.
I'm sure if you phoned TMS, they would explain where and what much better than I. At this point in time, I leave the mechanical pondering to my hubby. He thinks I'm too independent anyway, so the bike's I leave to him.

I'm I correct in referring to the ladder as a stabilizer bar? I'm sorry if I created some confusion as to this particular problem. As I posted before, I'm letting my hubby take care of mechanical works for the present.
Your Stallion looks like mine--beautiful blue. Mine does have silvery white Mustang stripes. I'll get a picture posted as soon as I get everything finished that I'm adding. I'm getting a spoiler put on this week. The spoiler came off an '07 Chevy Cobalt and I had it painted to match the Mustang stripes.

Schoolmarm. There is a difference between the ladders and a stabilzer bar. The ladders (there are 2) connect the rear axle right and left sides from the axles to the frame. The stabilzer bar is connected between the 2 end of the axle across the trike to help stabilize the left and right roll of the body. Not a big deal but it would be nice to know which.

Oh well, I just used my extension ladder to trim the Queen palm tree !!!! hahaha<br />
So what was briken, the ladder bar or sway bar???<br />

Didn't know the stallion had a sway bar????????????? Do you mean the panhard bar ???????????
