I did it on my 03. No problems, The hard part is taping out the old lower race in the frame and taping in the new race. Just take your time. it took me most of a day but I'm big and fat and slow.
If you have any questions just ask.

Anyone done this on a 08 Goldwing? I would like to know if any special tools are required to do this and on a scale of 1-10 10 being hardest how would you rate this procedure. I do have the tool required to make the steering head bearing adjustment.
Thanks for your help

Thanks bigdave for your reply. I was woundering if those races had to be replaced. I take it that no special tools required to get the races out. What did you use to do this if you don't mind me asking?

I just used a punch. The only special tool you might need is a socket to fit the stem nut. Without that socket you will have to guess on the torque when you tighten the nut. You can rent any of those tools from Honda direct in Shady side, OH. That what I did.

Thanks again bigdave for the reply. I have that socket for the steering stem nut. I bought years ago when I was restoring a 1986 Goldwing.
